Cows, are you happy with Sony's exclusive lineup this year?

This year(at retail) as PS3 exclusive titles Sony has released/is releasing:

• Twisted Metal(76 at Metacritic)
• Starhawk(77 at Metacritic)
• Sorcery(70 at Metacritic)
• LittleBigPlanet Karting(Unreleased)

Now looking at that list none of them set the world on fire, and it doesn't look like LittleBigPlanet is gonna do that either.

This isn't meant to be a comparison with Microsoft or Nintendo's lineup so please try to keep that out, it's just here to ask your honest opinion on the true first party PS3 exclusives this year. Are you, as gamers, satisfied? Would a bigger and more successful list make you happier? If you aren't happy with it, why do you think that is? Do you think the reason for Sony's rather lackluster performance this year is that they're gearing up for the next gen? Is it because redirected a lot of their focus to the Vita? I'm eagerly awating your well formulated feedback.

I don't really see how you could be. Year isn't over though.

Their exclusive lineup is lacking Pushmo. Of course they're not happy with it. Oh, they'll try to put on a happy public face, but deep inside the lack of Pushmo burns.

Don't really care about year to year. All the consoles have exclusives I enjoy, and aside from Halo, Gears, and Demon's Souls, I've generally enjoyed multiplats more, anyway.

This list is meant to be exclusive titles though. It's about how well Sony took care of the PS3.

PSA is a multiplatform game so it wouldn't really make sense to put it in the list.

Don't really care about year to year. All the consoles have exclusives I enjoy, and aside from Halo, Gears, and Demon's Souls, I've generally enjoyed multiplats more, anyway.

I agree. I adore Forza Motorsport, Halo, Gears and a few other titles but looking at the list of exclusives Sony/MS published over the year it's pretty clear that in terms of quantity and quality third party games have the edge.

I know that their biggest developers are working on games next year or for PS4 so im fine with a lackluster year.

Im ok with it. Mainly becuz I know whats coming next year.

If there was little coming out next year, then I would be pissed, but since their are plenty of great games coming next year its hard not be hyped.

Sony has been on fire since 2008, it think having one low year is not as bad as lems want it to be. There are games still coming so.... IDK why people want to make it as if SONY has completely abandon the PS3.

No exlusives worth buying and the worst multiplats. I have no idea how anyone can justify the cost of a PS3 when there are cheaper/better alternatives.Miketheman83

Well this is about retail titles really, as is stated in the OP.

It's entirely possible to be happy with PSN's offerings this year though.

It's just that over the years in SW cows have been the faction that placed the biggest importance on retail exclusives from the three companies so I wanted to hear their opinion on this year's lineup.

All consoles will have a couple of good exclusives this year. Wii has Xenoblade and The Last Story. 360 has Forza Horizon and Halo 4. PS3 has Twisted Metal, Starhawk, Little Big Planet Karting. PS3 just slightly has more variety. Since I play on all 3 consoles, I can't help but take what all consles offer in making my decision. Also, we're really not getting the full picture on the year though since Sony has games shared with the Vita like Sly 4 and the 360 got The Witcher 2 shared with PC.. FlamesOfGrey

They don't have the money to buy a 3DS and Pushmo, so they have to pretend an abysmal lineup is decent to justify a console that suddenly feels crummy. Or maybe they are just such fanboys that they don't want to play Pushmo because they will then have to admit that Nintendo is better than Sony. Or maybe they just like bad games. Who knows.

Well, like my comment started off. The line-up is decent. It's not great but it's not terrible either. It's a mid range year as far as pure exclusives go.FlamesOfGrey

As an example 2 90+ games on Metacritic and one 80+ is what I would consider decent.

3 games at around 70 however isn't.

There's nothing good about Sony's lineup this year.

Considering that I don't put any stock in review scores since they don't affect my enjoyment or opinions on games, that doesn't mean anything to me.

I'm sure Sony like any company would like their games all to be 90+ Metacritic games. I however, don't work for them.

Since you're going on scores 70 means a "good game" to alot of reviewers. For a decent year yes, 3 games at the level is fine. If you're talking about a great or amazing year then multiple games scoring 80-90+ is necessary.

If you ask me for a year, which is a 12 moth period, my minimum for decent would be 2-3 games with "Universal acclaim.'
