I know how absurd it sounds at this point, but surely there must still be some Cows still left out there that beli3v3 the PS3 is going to win.

i agree. sony is gonna keep cutting the prices and it will sell faster and faster. the PS2 is still out selling the 360 cuz it is soo cheap now.

I mean I don't own a wii I don't like the wii, but damn its sales are better than any console ever put on the market and holding strong.

Right now its not a race for first.... its a race for second unless either PS3 or 360 pull massive sales this next year (which is possible given the release lists for both systems)

I do. Don't forget over 100 million people bought a PS2 last gen, thats a good fanbase to start on. PS3 is supperior to 360 in hardware and soon games, and once people see past Wii's fad to the mediocre games and abysmal hardware it has, i see PS3 as the only 'solid' console. It will conquer when the price is right for 'joe casual'....

thing is that is the number of consoles they sold to retailers not to consumers. i think sony would know better then anyone how many consoles they sold to retailers.

to answer your question yes i do think ps3 will win this generation because of the 10 year life cycle. the other two just can't sale as many in 5 years there is no getting around it. i do think nintendo will extend wiis life past 5 years if the console is still selling strong 4 years from now.

The only reason sony have had a ten year plan in the past is that they have sold heaps of consoles. If they tank hell bad this gen then we wont be seeing a 10 year life cycle. Wii on the other hand is selling really well so nitendo could easily extend the life of it. It will be a race for second between microsoft and sony, and right now microsoft is in the lead. Spanks113

The Wii is selling well right now. That's not to say it will be selling well in 2-3 years when everyone realizes what outdated hardware its's packing. Developers aren't going to put effort into designing technologically inferior games, they'll just keep making shovelware. They know it won't last. "Strike while the iron is hot", goes the saying, and I believe that is what we're seeing.

why not? what year is the ps2 on its 7th or something? and their's still games being announced for it.

Thats like sayingthe GC is still alive because Madden comes out every year. The PS2 is wayover its prime, and Sony expecting the PS3, which isn't even doing half as well as the PS2 was, I think the hopes area little far fetched for a 10 year life span. All the last gen consoles are still alive per say, but they are hanging on by a limb.
