There's a difference between preferring one system, and being blindly fanatical (fanboy) of it.

I get called a fanboy all the time because I prefer the Wii, even though I respect all the other systems.

That's their narrow perception, not your shortcoming.

Have to disagree there. We all have our own preferences. A Gamer can be someone who either has multiple systems, or just one, but still respects all platforms. What makes a fanboy isn't being a fan of a particular system, it's having unreasoning hate of competing systems. The characteristics typical of a Fanboy is bashing any game on the competing system just for being on that system, never being able to acknowledge that said system has any good games or hardware features. Also being completely blind to the shortcomings (and they ALL do have some) of their preferred platform.

The Fanboy M.O. is always bash the competition without mercy, always praise their own, cry flops for the competition, deny any for their own.

Wow, someone smart here. Man, my respects. At least you are not like 99% of the SW community as the TC and most of the repliers here. Calling everyone else fanboys but not themselves.

I dont understand whats so terrible about owning a PS3. Whas it terrible to own an Xbox? No so why dont you guys start showing some love or respect at least. If you are poor, or cheap dont go saying "hey thats crap". If you guys cant enjoy all the games, stop gaming. I wouldnt call myself a gamer if I wouldnt have played most of the stuff. If you dont have the cash then rent it.

Thank you ken, I greatly appreciate the comment. buuuuuut, still I gotta counter 1 point you made :) Don't assume people don't buy the PS3 simply because they're "poor or cheap". It could be based on library preference just as easily - Halo 3 vs Killzone 2, Forza vs GT, Mass Effect vs FF 13, Splinter Cell Convistion vs MGS4, etc....

That means that you are a fan of a different system and thus, a fanboy.

I think you missunderstood this, when someone is being called a fanboy by, for example, cows, he's not being called a fanboy for hating the system, but for being a fan of the competetive system and bashing the ps3.
