Obviously, Xbox couldn't keep up the altruistic act for long since they're completely third-party now. Games need to be sold, numb nuts. Game Pass only exists because Xbox game sales were going down the toilet along with the popularity of the console. That business model is failing. We know that from the price increase(s). Why the hell would Sony want to save that? They want that 30 percent cut, genius. And MS still wants to sell the game to to healthy userbases that'll actually buy it. They poisoned their own well.

being a multiplatform publisher is where the comparison to Sega begins and ends.. and sure, like Sega, Xbox is a multiplatform publisher but so is PlayStation in terms of PC support..

Back in your time it was all about hardware sales numbers and guess what, it still is because Sony can actually sell consoles and now Microsoft is forced to publish their games on Playstation consoles.

Not sure what move you're referring to Game Pass itself or the Activision/Blizzard acquisition? If you're referring to the Activision/Blizzard deal I personally did not like it or think MS should of done it I would of rather seen MS acquire Studios like CD Project Red and others like War Horse stuff like that. But MS wanted to get into the mobile market more as well and the deal helps them do that also.

Also you clearly have ABYSMAL business financial sense and any good economist right now would say it's strategically financial neglect in the world economic climate to not put your games on as many platforms as possible to maximize profits and cut inflation cost for your business and investors.

"Ownage" was used for practically everything. It wasn't tied to sales or games. It was an overused phrase that was parodied even in its prime.

You're also incorrect about what held the most weight here and it wasn't sales. It was a meta game we had with game scores for exclusives being the deciding factor.

Forza Horizon is an arcady racing game and GT is a simulator racing game that's more grounded. If this was a Forza Motorsport (PS5 version) vs GT, than it would come down to what exactly grounded racing simulator you truly want to play.
