Well I guess their ugly ass cousin is the one that "got the girl" though huh? Or in the Wii's case won the console war.It's already over.
If the sales of a console is going to be a war, here's how it goes. *This is not based on sales, fact or anything, I am just did this because I was bored, and went to far. :P*The 360 begins fighting smart, they launch their attack early and with a lot of new recruits theyattack directly at Sony, but instead of sending in their new band of recruits, "The PS3's" they send their old recruits, the PS2 to counter them, and it works perfectly. The 360 shoots out its two squadrons,Oblivion and G.R.A.W., the PS2 counters withits strong squadron,Final Fantasy XII, and it seemed to hold them off for a while. While this happened, Nintendo forged, in secret a master console, one console to rule them all, one console to find them...hahaha sorry. But it was called the Wii. Due to Microsoft not realizing what the Wii/Nintendo was doing, it still went for Sony. So Nintendo had all the time to advertise for their army.
Microsoft was slowlylosing the fight between G.R.A.W. and Oblivion against Final Fantasy XII. They then launched their major attack squadron, Gears of War. This hit Sony like a nuke and had them on the ground. Sony decided tosend inGod of War 2, which was huge, and the PS3 which they thought was huge. Turned out God of War 2 was a perfect counter, but the PS3, was not. While the PS3 boasted a lot of new technology, and it sounded great as a concept, it turned out to be too expensive, and couldn't muster enough recruits to do some damage. For a few days this war between the Gears of War, and the PS3/God of War 2 raged on, Nintendo decided to unleash their new secret weapon, the Wii, along with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. A huge hit!
Nintendo swept the battlefield, dominating ALL in its path, they swung their might nunchuks with force, and shot people down with the Wiimote. They swept right throughthe middle of the battlefield with dominant force, and Sony and Microsoft were weakened. Badly. During this time, Nintendonites and Microsoftnies banded together in a squadron called Wii60. These were seen as semi traitors to the true loyalty, but they had amazing looks and agreat number of recruitsto kick sony while it's recruit count was low.
Sony was on the ropes, it had to do something durastic. It decided to counter with no games, but a price drop. This hit the Wii60 pretty good, and it boosted their recruit numbers. It put them semi-back into the fight and the battle still rages on to this day.
We have heard rumor mill that Microsoft if working on a few huge squadrons, called Mass Effect, Halo 3, and Blue Dragon. They expect this to shift the tide in their favor. Nintendo is working on three huge squadrons as well. Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, they are hoping for this to be a great counter to Microsoft. Sony has a few squadrons in the works also, these are called Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4, and rumor has it, they are working on the broken squadron of Killzone. In recent history, Killzone fell flat on their face and was crushed by the Halo series of squadrons, but Sony had Devil May Cry and God of War to back it up, boasting its win. Why they are working on Killzone 2, we do not know, but we know that it might be big.
What will happen to Sony though? It's big 3 come later into the battle than the other 6, and with the Wii60's, the Wii's, and the 360's new sqaudrons, will they be able to hold out long enough for it's other 3 squadrons. Only time will tell.
