Actually this is what the original Crysis was SUPPOSED to be like. I remember the first time I saw this, my jaw hit the floor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlr9dvwnEus I was pretty disappointed with the final release as you can imagine.TheDuffman26
Set the .ini settings to the max, install some mods, or wait for Crytek to unlock certain features. People with four GTX 295's are pushing Crysis to an extent that no one else can use right now. Once the hardware comes out, Crysis will look like it did in the demo. That being said, I think the demo is about what Crysis looks like on Very High.
Yeah, I checked the CE3 demo and it was awful ... compared to Crysis on PC, of course. It's still beyond anything else on consoles ... Hopefully, this doesn't mean that the PC won't be getting these games just because CE3 is optimized for consoles.
Can CE3 be used on the PC? I haven't been able to find a video of where a speech was given related to this; just the tech demo.
-- Nevermind. I found my answer. Good. That means the PC versions will still be far superior. Does Cryengine 3 have any improvements on CE2 or is it just a dumb downed console port of the engine?

mods people made or mods Crytek made ? Sonic_on_crackpeople made....acctually i am not sure since i do not think that crytek has made many mods for the game but most are acctually made by jus people
Yea, it's pretty terrible compared to CryEngine2. They better have at least learned to optimize better for PC with this newer engine iteration. They're the only PC developer of dozens of developerswho has the optimization issues that they have. Though Crysis Warhead was a little better that the original Crysis.

compare that to the actual trailer and then you will see the difference. THESE ARE NOT MODS!!!
They are settings set through .ini's that the engine is capable of doing. I don't know why they aren't changable through the menu but most games are like that. Oblivion was one of the biggest ones in recent memory. My guess is that people bash a game if they can't max it with their new-gen card even if it's far beyond anything else they can compare it to.
Crytek has said many times that they will unlock features of the Cryengine 2 as new generations of cards come out. So, even Crysis with maxed .ini and modded graphics isn't even what the Cryengine is capable of. I'd be willing to bet that the dem ois very much what is capable in the engine. It's just there's no reasonable priced solution to play it this way.
If you continue to maintain this point then you're just going to prove that you're trying to damage control and hide the facts.

And what features of Cryengine 2 have Crytek unlocked? There have been 2 new generations of cards since the first Crysis and they haven't unlocked anything...The hidden power of the Cryengine 2, ha ha ha ha, oh Hermits, you make me smile sometimes. You guys are really starting to sound like the Cows and "The hidden power of the Cell" Man oh man, this is going to end in severe disappointment for Hermits in the end. Im_single

So there is no hidden power, Crysis has reached it's peak? Than why are people still talking about "The Power" like it actually exists, and it hasn't already been found. the Crytek Engine 2 as itself hasnt peaked, I think its that simple.why do people not realize that it was a tech demo on consoles. Obviously its not going to look as good, but those phsyics on consoles would be awesome.navstar29I also wonder what platform the videos are showing? The video I saw didn't clarify, but had both PS3 and 360 icons at the start. Obviously it doesn't look as good as the PC version (a bit less detailed than what I can run it at), but hey, it looks plenty good compared to most console games, and hopefully the gameplay will be spot-on.

Crytek has already released a patch to increase the graphics in the original Crysis and even released Crysis Warhead. They promise more patches to unlock features in the future. You're just in denial. Typical console fanboy. A PC fanboy (Hermit) has no problem with things like exclusives or engines or what not. It's the ignorant console fanboys that have the problem.
This entire forum is indisputible proof of this.

what is ".ini" ?
Also, "Im_single" (LOL!) look at the Unreal 3 engine. Look at the ways it has been enhanced over the years. Gears Of War 2 was exponentially more impressive than Gears Of War 1. And, Gears Of War 1 was an improvement over previous Unreal 3 games. And, to top it off, they're supposed to show off some more Unreal 3 engine enhancements at this year's GDC.
So, there's two options:
1) Crysis has not reached it's full potential as Crytek, logic, configurations, and the world as we know it shows.
2) Cryengine 2 is the first proprietary engine that remained static for years.
Which one seems more likely?
Typically ill-informed consoleboy.

Actually I think you're in denial. Crytek also said that Crysis would run on high with an 8800gt and 2gb's of memory when it first came out. So take what they say with a grain of salt. Look at Killzone 2 and the level of hardware it is running on, yet it looks amazing. If Cryengine 2 has so much more left in it like you say, why hasn't Crytek been optimizing it and unlocking new features when next generation hardware comes out, such as core i7 and gtx 200 series? That is A LOT more horsepower than a ps3. We will see Cryengine 3 before you see any unlocked features of Cryengine 2. That engine has run its course.[QUOTE="Im_single"]The hidden power of the Cryengine 2, ha ha ha ha, oh Hermits, you make me smile sometimes. *sigh* the ini is the config file... you know what? google it, i dont give a damnThose textures look almost as bad ask Killzone ones. Also for those that watched the video, did you note how the bushes and plants details dissapear as soon as you turn a few degrees? "LOL CONSOL3S CAN HANDL3 CRYSIS!1111!! WTF LOL"
EDIT:
On another note. Did you people notice how this tech demo lacks the color and atmosphere of Crysis?
Now it's all MATURE AND GRIMDARK: BROWN AND GREEN.
Well, it must be because it's targeted at consoles.
