worst case scenario, only 3 games will look better. Crysis, the witcher 2, and metro 2033.

How about you go and actually play the games you talk about? Is this some kind of joke?just based on screenshots

nah man, call of prypyat smokes arma 2 in textures and lighting.
It's just one of those games that I don't see what the big deal is graphically.
I just can't see past Arma 2's textures... :P

I'll give you lighting, but textures? :| Arma 2 has some damn fine textures, albeit nothing perhaps as good as Call of Pripyat's bricks. Still, at least they don't draw in 30 feet ahead of you. :P
1. Crysis
2. Metro 2033
3. Arma 2
4. Just Cause 2 (PC)
5. Stalker Call of Pripyat
6. Mirrors Edge
7. Far Cry 2
8. Stalker Clear Sky
9. Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl
10. Errrrm Resident Evil 5 ? :P
If this thread is still going later, I'll give you some maxed Arma 2 screens (well, maxed besides view distance >_>) if you don't see my point. :P
psn8214
sure, but you'll have to show a maxed call of prypyat screen as well :P
no matter what, call of prypyat is much prettier :)
[QUOTE="mD-"]lol ofc it has aliasing, maybe you sit far away from your TV or your screen is really small. But it does have jaggies. Console games at 720p with no AA will have jaggies.you just said that UC2 is full of jaggies TC. Lie.
mattuk69
No kidding? Any game with no AA will have jaggies Mr. Genius:roll:
Uhhh yes, easily. Arma 2 blows them off the water. But does ARMA 2 look better than Killzone 2 or UC2?

The complete mod for pripyat is coming out in a few days.

REALLY!? OMG! seriously? dude best new EVER!. I bought the game just for the mod! thank yo so much! lol over reaction sorry, it may have sounded like sarcasm but seriously you made me squel with glee (not really but still)As per request, I'm going to post some of my screens. :) Let's start with some of my old ones - Call of Pripyat maxed:
The sunshafts are so pretty in this game. STALKER has the best lighting in any game period methinks.
Love the contrast between the anomaly and the dark night in this one. You jelly consolites? :P
I'll post some Arma 2 ones in a sec, I have to actually go take some since the ones I have were seemingly deleted.
When it comes to visuals, the STALKER games have their moments of awesomeness, but they have just as many moments of this looks like ****. Hopefully with their new engine things will be a lot more consistent (new gun models, character models, animations, etc,etc)...and maybe some better looking natural barriers, cause when you got to the end of the map, it was basically a steep plateau and a fence. Maybe a couple trees. It looked really bad. AAllxxjjnn
That's what kills me about them. So much about that game looks damn incredible, and then you get the poor grass/texture draw distance, weak foliage, and shaky animations/models. I'm excited to see what they can do with their new engine.
Yeh, I'm hoping we'll get a glimpse of it soon. Maybe around GDC? I'm not really sure if they attend any shows like that though. That's what kills me about them. Alright, here's some fresh (literally minutes old  ) Arma 2 screens. This is the most photorealistic game on the market right now.
One of the best parts about Arma is the ability to change from a first to a third person shooter on the fly. It's handy depending on the situation you're in, and it's fun to watch all of the animations.
The above screen and everything that follows are from Arrowhead. Yes, you can fly the jets. You can pretty much do anything in this game, AND it's completely open world, all while looking that good. Once again, you jelly consolites? :P
In Arma 2, all grass and foliage reacts to both your body and direction of movement. In the above pic, I had just rolled to the right then crawled to the left. Pretty impressive stuff huh?
There is also an incredible and eclectic mix of vehicles in this game, all of which can be player controlled.
Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the screens. Feel free to repost where applicable. :)

Let's hope. It's impressive they got the mileage they did with their old engine, so I'm really excited to see what they'll be able to accomplish with the new one. Multiplatform too. Should be awesome. :D
Have you played Uncharted 2? You have not played Crysis 2. Yet you make comparisons, demean and make some baseless comments. Perfect system wars materialalextherussianAgreed. this fits right in here.
[QUOTE="galacta552"]Who cares what a game is hiding, i only care about what i can see in my games, why would i want to stand looking at a wall when i could be playing the game??That's what I always think , and if hiding it's as cheap as people make it to be , why doesn't other devs start hiding too?Cause it's certainly better than playing games that are horrid to look at.While I am not sure if the Crysis 2 MP demo looks better than UC2, I do know that UC2's graphics are overrated.
The third person perspective allows them to cheat textures by being further away, looking at anything close up reveals the flaws. Also many believe the cut-scenes use in game graphics but they do not. Take a look a Nathans face in actual gameplay compared to the cut-scenes, not the same.
God of War 3 is most likely the best looking console game, as KZ2 abuses motion blur and dark colors to hide bland textures.
Crysis 1 looks far better than any console game though and I think it is unfair to compare an MP demo to a completed single player game. When Crysis 2 is released and you have seen the single player gameplay for yourself, then you may decide if it is the best looking console game. Graphics usually take a hit in multiplayer, remember that.

DAM. Arma 2 looks amazing. now I have to buy 1 more game to add to that massive list of pc games
Still, personally I think call of prypyat looks better, because of the lighting. overall though I'd say it's a tie.
btw, I haven't played any of these games yet, when I get my pc I'm getting shadow of chernobryl as my first game :)

Told ya'! :P You're totally right though, Call of Pripyat's lighting is boss.
I have to give you the title of *screen king* for having such great screens :)

d'aww, thanks! I'm going to try and post more on a regular basis. I think people forget that Crysis isn't the only amazing looking game on PC sometimes. :P
You choose a vibrant location/spot against a generic indoor spot(in crysis demo)So NO to TC, crysis 2 beta doesn't look any better than U2 MP at all.gpuking
There is a thread of somebody posting some impressive shots of a Crysis 2 Demo map.
It does look better (considering the destruction, procedural)
I was watching someone play my UC2 yesterday and I had forgot how amazing it looks. it's easy to miss it when playing because you are focused on playing...but just watching. dayum. drool inducing.
