On the contrary UC2 actually has TPS gameplay to rival that of the best of them (I really can't think of any other game out there that does), and tacked on stealth/melee elements? You can finish entire set pieces with stealth. Pretty sure that's a testament to how awesome stealth was implemented in the game.

Really?... really? While the combat of UC2 was indeed very well executed the stealth is not nearly as well done; it is no wonder why there is not nearly as much focus on it, despite the terrible forced trial and error stealth sequence at the start.
Be it not having any actual indicators of how hidden you are, rather line of sight, but any visual cues assisting that are absent... then a complete lack of an alert system to compensate for failure or evasion.... and A.i. that that is so much more geared towards combat.
Sure you can try sneak (I did for many parts, more often than not ending up in combat),but it is so trial and error I cannot see how it is awesome; If the combat combined with the platforming wasn't so strong in overshadowing it (as well as the setpieces complimenting them), things could have been very different.
Honestly though, the forced stealth section was so abysmal I am surprised it is ignored, one of the worst ways to follow up the great opening sequence.

Oh yeah Crysis 2, well who knows how its gameplay will be. At least the first actually had proper stealth mechanics implemented, then taking a side saddle, who knows about the second.

Oh I also thought the melee was great.
I totally agree with you on the stealth. That stealth section near the beginning puzzled me. The game should have stuck to what it did amazingly all the way through. The stealth was a bit of unwelcome variety.
