The new lighting looks like unrealistic movie light, and the shadows look like everything is under very harsh light and close to the shadow, otherwise you would not get such defined shadows.
New textures, good.
Lighting and shadows, really bad.

Maybe its just me, and thats fine, but the un-modded Crysis 2 looks so much better in those two screens. The mod is too bright and I feel it distances itself too much from the NYC setting. What i mean is that I feel I'm just in a location next to some buildings and not still fighting in NYC against a killer enemy force...which is kinda what Crysis 2 is all about.
A little taste of screenshots in their original size, you're going to have to settle for jpgs through Steam though:
I miss some of the tesselation but Crytek got "out-bricked" ;)
Edit: Have'nt noticed any performance issues. Need to some heavy action to get a proper impression though. If anything, it might run a little better due to less tesselation.
Looks like the mod turns off HDR by the way.
HDRbrightlevel=0
Also, it uses a default FoV of 80, I've just switched it back to 74.
Regardless that this is mode, i cannot say i recall pc on crysis 2 looking washed out. but that foes look mighdy perdy i say......yup perdy you heard me :)

PostMSAA makes it look washed out.
As for the updated shadows.... it's nice that they're precise and all but small objects at a distance do not have precise shadows in real life and every leaf has a perfect outline in the mod. Should have left some blur on it.
As for the rest, it looks damn beautiful. I'm sure people already came in here and scoffed at it, but that's only cause they can't play it. Just sayin.
