360 version appears to have better shadows, and what looks to be ambient occlusion.

But apart from that both look very similar. More similar than some other multiplats out there.

[QUOTE="ManicAce"]Like some have pointed out, those are PC screens taken at "supposed console settings"...from a beta, far from conclusive. It looks good though.Bus-A-Bus

Yes indeed, taken on PC.However, not "supposed console settings",they are indeed console settings.

How do you know? These could be what they were aiming for, or what they were at one point. Even after a game is released devs sometimes keep tweaking the performance, and Crysis 2 is still a month away.

Wow, that's impressive, Crytek!

I wonder how pop-in will fair on both systems. The 360 MP demo had plenty of it :(. Hopefully, with the retail build, it's down to a minimum for both versions.

IF SP is 720p thats what you are getting on consoles, exactly this. They have cfg. files that leaked together with CE3 editor and Crysis 2 and in the files all settings are written. From shadows, lighting,LOD,water tessellation,SSAO,motion blur.amount of EdgeAA etc. Nothing is changing and this is not what they are aiming for since there are already 3 confirmed 360 SP footages looking exactly like this. This guy even rendered them in 720p.

MP graphics are not comparable to SP graphics as confirmed by latest previews.Plus different studios develop them :)

Going by those pics, 360 seems to have more detailed shadows but for some reson i believe it will have more pop up. Both versions will probably have their pros and cons, still overall very indenticle. Good job Crytek.

I was trying really hard to spot the differences between the two systems.

And then I stopped because I realized I don't care what the two console versions look like because I'll be getting the proper version on the PC. :D

If that´s true, then im impressed! They look exactly the same!

Locutus_Picard

The tree in 360 version looks slightly better. :D

They gimped the PS3 version down to the 360 version to make it look identical.

LOL. Now tell us all how it really happened

from ps3/360 footage ive seen ps3 does appear to have less pop in, but why the **** would ps3 have less pop in when a dvd-rom is faster than blu ray for streaming content off the disk?

That's not how games work.

Data is not streamed directly off the disk while the game is being played. It is preloaded into memory during loading sequences, and then referenced from memory.

That's like the only difference, I don't know why the devs could get the shadows to work the same, the Trey is powerful after all.

Lol at the people who think there are any differences between the console versions.

Crytek knows what their doing, and they know people will complain about the graphics if one looks any different than the other.

So if anyone trys to claim ownage over the other, they are just making themselves look bad.

360 version looks better... yet exlusive look better compared to anything on 360.. it makes no since other than ps3 is getting the most ported its way.

360 ver has higher shadow res while ps3 ver has brighter lens flare or bloom, the rest looks the same. But in the end these are not 100% indicative of the console version in terms of resolution, AA and other effects.

Infinite_Access

Its always been the case. Exclusives always look better because of the money and time pumped into them. But PS3 owners always get a shoddy port thats inferior. Portal 2 will be the exception. It sounds like its getting the better version

i think the 360 version brightness is set slightly darker. other then that no difference. it is hard to judge on such levels as brightness and colour as both consoles will handle games slightly differently, the ps3 has options like deep colour and full colour range and the 360 has optons like expanded colour and all that guff, so you will always get a slight difference, the textures and detail such as aa will be more of a give away.

xbox 360 crysis 2 >ps3 the shadows on 360 are better and the 360 version is running at 1152*720 while the ps3 is running at 1024*720 so the 360 version will be sharper. nothing to be mad about the truth is the ps3 is NOT better than the 360 in EVERY way(in fact they are similar in raw power when you look closely). the cell is more powerful and flexible than the 360s CPU (because it has more computational power and can do SOME graphics operations xenon cannot because of its architecture) but the 360s gpu is a generation ahead of the ps3s rsx that's why you only hear ps3 first party devs talk about the cell do they ever mention what a powerful gpu the rsx is ? NO because it sucks in comparison to whats in the 360 crytek actually said the ps3s gpu was low end in comparison to its 360 counterpart. Aside from the 360s gpu being more powerful and flexible it also has more memory bandwidth, more memory(because the 360s OS takes up less memory than the ps3s) and the edram also helps take care of bandwidth sapping operations like frame buffers(it also does free HDR in the 360 version of crysis 2 by the way the only limitation it has is that is only 10MB) but the rsx doesn't have such a thing. the complex architecture of the cell makes it hell to code for then the fact that the rsx is a dud makes it even harder to code for because game devs have to face the challenge of rendering graphics using 2 different architectures with 2 different memory pools and memory latencies(thats the reason naughty dog used the cell for post processing effects and everything else while the rsx just focussed on drawing the enviroments because thats really the best where to do it on ps3 even at that the cell can't make up for the low memory bandwidth of the rsx which affects frame buffer size, texture resolution and is basically a bottleneck as it hinders alot of other things PS3 cell(1 ppe +6 spus available for games 8 hardware threads in total)> xbox 360 xenon(3 ppes with 2 hardware threads each making a total of 6 ) rsx>xenos blu ray>dvd(MUCH MUCH MUCH more space available on disk so you can have larger games although xbox 360 dvd read rates are faster) ps3 memory bandwith read this article and you'll know that the 360s gpu has like twice the processing power of the ps3s rsx not even including the edram, bandwith and unified shader advantage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk%3ARSX_%27Reality_Synthesizer%27

the ps3 version runs smoother at a lower resolution ? lol you must be insane the ps3 runs 1024*720 while the 360 1152*720 crytek has been hiding the ps3 version for a reason lol
