'm thinking they got word that MS will not launch until 2014 :o and Sony may not launch at all. and Wii U ummm, well ya know. :PWished they waited for the new consoles, dam the game would have looked amazing.

Cool. I guess the "Life After People" images of NYC weren't too far-fetched after all. I don't care what the lead platform is. So long as Crytek fixed the DX11 tesselation issues and this game runs fine on my PC, I'm happy. I do think Crytek should rename it into Warhead 2.0 instead of Crysis 3.
I'm hoping they go overkill on DX11 =). Somebody has to lead the way!
I think it's kinda odd they put the game so far into the future, it completely breaks the story. Probably means it will have more futuristic stuff, I see no reason why CELL soldiers wouldn't be outfitted with lesser versions of the nanosuit.
Well, it needs more sandbox levels... Crysis 2 was too much linear.
2013? Sweet. Just two years after the second game.
Exactly like I predicted last week.
It's Crysis 2: Warhead. Just with a 3 instead for marketing and to not let noobs believe it's a simple DLC. If it's has more new content than Warhead, then count me in.

Since when is a whole new single player campaign a "simple DLC".
That makes absolutely no sense.

Ok... not DLC, but more stand alone expansion.
The game really looks like it's to Crysis 2 what Warhead was to Crysis 1. Sure to many people it's a sequel, but comparing to the first game, it just looks like they are still doing the same patern and calling it 3 doesn't seem right. Then Warhead might a well have been called Crysis 2, and Crysis 2 become Crysis 3 etc.
What I'm expecting is for the game to be quite similar to the Crysis 2 making them both feel related to each other just like Crysis 1 and Warhead.

You haven't seen anything of it other than it's set 20 years after Crysis 2 and it's back in NYC which was completely destroyed in Crysis 2 and now is completley different.
You're just jumping to conclusions way to quickly.

Mabey,
but the first screenshot I see, first thing I notice are identical ennemies... I'll have my doubts until we trully see the game for real.

the original took place in the year 2020.
I don't know what year Crysis 2 took place in.
Thefatness16
C2 took place in 2023.
So a 24 year difference.
Thanks, can't wait to see what those aliens & the Cell corporation did to New York in that timeframe.
I have a feeling the story is going to be crap again. At least at this point in time, it seems that they're skipping around too much without giving a lot of details on exactly what happens in between. That said, I really don't mind going back to NYC. Crysis 2 was a blast and I loved the environment.
what the hell is an arrow going to do to an alien :|
Why is the suit and/or weapons getting dumbed down
campzor
What about what they've said had anything to do with dumbing down weapons/armor? :?
They're adding the alien weapons as usable and there's a bow with ammo types, that's the only news I've read about the weapons.
Unless I've misread something, I'm pretty damn tired, so that is a possibility.

I'll Be Back !! :P
This makes no sence, Prophet died in Crysis 2. He literally shot himself trough the head. Or could Prophet have killed off Alcatraz at the end of C2? And taken over his body?
Nonetheless, I hope it'll be a huge open world game again, like the first half of Crysis 1. But by the looks of it it won't get that open wide :(
2013 so far is shaping to be a good year for EA. Can't wait for Generals 2 and Crysis 3
There was no Alkatraz after the intro. You play as an auto-piloted corpse until Prophet's conscience is merged with the suit and body.
Its like Enslaved: Odyssee to the west and The Last of Us. I personally really like the overgrown city settings. If this is a true sandbox FPS game like STALKER then it could be good. I'd like to play the second but the game is horrible on consoles and doesn't run on my PC.
Psycho is back with a usual suspect of the Crysis franchise, Psycho aka Sergeant Michael Sykes, who we all remember from Crysis 1 and Crysis WarheadAAllxxjjnn
The limey is back? Sweet!
Oh, joy!
Edit: I hope Nomad didn't come to a bad end (along with what's her face).

I feel the Crytek guys use movies and shows for inspiration. Take Crysis and Warhead, I feel like Crytek used the movie, "Predator" as inspiration. Both games and movie took place in the forest/jungle. Then, Predator 2 took place in a city (Los Angeles). Crysis 2 also took place in a city (NYC).
Then, this latest game almost looks like it will be taken straight out of the "Life After People" series. I'm sure it's all a coincidence. I can't help but speculate.
Why do corporations always have to be the evil/corrupt ones? I mean, how the heck are they going to profit off of putting a dome over an invaded New York? There is no way they would make money off of that which makes this games entire plot ridiculous.
hoola
Can't be more ridiculous than a plumber defeating a humanoid dragon to save a princess of a mushroom kingdom.

Hence why I said like ALMOST every sequel. Gears 2, Call of duty, Halo, Uncharted, Devil may cry, Final Fantasy games. All have very similar enemies in their sequels.Everything sounds cool except the same stupid enemies again. Judging by the pics they are identical to C2. And the Ceph are really boring to fight against
Post-post apocalyptic its called since after humanity have left their awful mark, nature as started to reclaim its territory. Also, Enslaved is a joy to play, so sad it gets hate from just about everyone though:(Its like Enslaved: Odyssee to the west and The Last of Us. I personally really like the overgrown city settings.
