Crysis 3: Lowest Settings Looks Better Than Most Console Games

Your mind is blown. Crytek has done it again. These are taken directly in-game. No photomode nonsense. As you can see, it's marvelous. Also, because everything is on low, you get a massive frameboost. Let's say 60FPS. Something high fidelity console games can't reach.

In my opinion battlefield 1 and the witcher 3 on pc easily beats those previous mentioned games in regards to graphics.

Warhammer total war, on the other hand, is a technical masterpiece. In my opinion graphics alone shouldn't be the only deciding factor when it comes to visual fidelity. I have yet to see a game that renders so many animated objects in real time as a modern total war game does.

The Mark Hamil model looks like a reincarnated dead person while this looks absolutely stunning.

Agreed. Crysis, to this day, is still one of the best single player FPS games I've played. It's up there along with the Stalker games, easily.

Gonna have to agree with you on both. Right now, The Witcher 3 or Battlefront take it, but BF1 will be the top spot when that hits on PC.

I haven't seen Total War personally, yet, but I bet it's easily a contender.

I got Crysis for free on PS3 and boy it was a complete mess, the game is not playable I don't know why Crytek even bothered making the game on consoles...

My old junk pc could only play games from the ps2/Xbox era and I wanna say it's around that caliber but even then it's way stronger than those consoles. It's impossible to compare pc with consoles, cuz the console specs are just so specific. Even some games on low perform better. I was like, maybe Doom 3 will look worse on lowest settings and then the framerate tripled! Guessing it's the same story here, huh?

Says the guy who posted a fake screenshot of the witcher 3. Sorry, but the witcher 3 certainly doesn't look like this on the default low settings. But what else can I expect from a fanboy such as you. You just proved that you are no better than gpuking. Besides, doom 4 looks like a game from 2013 and has no place in this discussion.

Metro Redux versions came out in 2014, and these games have awesome graphics on PC, but they don't beat The Witcher 3 in sheer technical detail.

Crytek has been miles ahead of most game developers with they're Cryengine for years, mostly because they have been able to use a lot of development time on it. While games have been lackluster. There really isn't many developers that would have taken the chance (or even afford to) making a game like Crysis, knowing it would only work on really expensive PC hardware, and sales would be low. But they kept on improving the engine and even adding console support.

Like I have said before, I would have love to see this engine for other types of games, also from other developers.

I think consoles have already surpassed that display with Crysis 3. Now we got that resolution with higher polygonal count character models and better animation than ever before. But kudos to Crytek for beating others to the punch.

It has had its run as Graphics King(LOL I hate this term) and there are much more games released that look better than crysis 3. Not saying that crysis 3 looks bad, but there certainly are better looking games than it.

Hmmm, that sounds familiar, somehow I feel I´m back into the Victorian era hunting werewolves n´stuff, from $60 a piece to $6 BUCKS ! ( if you have PS+ ) in less than a year ...... what a way to hit the dirt.
