Crysis gets too much attention.

I know it looks good, i know it's the best looking game out there... but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't get nearly as much attention as it should, with the STALKER 2009 mod it's completely photorealistic... and playable on a computer worth less than $700 by now

Agreed on so many levels, STALKER is one of my favorite FPS ever, epspecially with the right mods, it can be such a captivating experience.

Peopel use it as damage control. It always wins.

If these are not "Bullshots" or whatever the PC version is called, why don't we use these in arguments?

I didn't like the 2009 mod, the sunsets especially. A few mods I had made the game look way better than the 2009 mod.killab2oo5

haven't tried it before..

just bought crysis for $30 from steam (never played it before)..

bought it to test the graphics on my new ATi 5870 and got hooked on playing the single player campaign.

though it's an old 2007 title.. but the graphics & physics is just the most impressive till today.

seeing how 5870 perform made me think that it's really time for a new console generation by next year...

consoles really started showing their age compared to what main stream PC hardware can do these days.

i wish Microsoft would announce some new hardware in 2010 (and release it no later than 2011)

and why does it matter if something is modded? it still shows just how powerful a PC can be

I disagree that it gets too much attention, but i also think STALKER gets way too much praise. It looks okay, but not great and the game was so filled with bugs that it is imposible to play for very long.

I haven't played STALKER, but I agree that Crysis gets too much attention. A couple stand-out features and amazing graphics should not make it the signature game of hermits; there are better PC exclusives out there :o IMO.

Crysis gets so much attention because Cows are obsessed with challenging it, I bet if it wasn't for them Crysis wouldn't be mentioned anywhere near as often.

...Uncharted 2 will be amazing. The first game was on the edge of greatness and U2 looks as if it will surpass it in every way imaginable. Why can you not just be content in getting an awesome game? Why must it be the greatest game ever and the Crysis killer? What's the point? Does it make you feel better about getting the game?

Play the game and enjoy it, don't try to make it out as something it isn't. Crysis looks better. The end. :)

I saw the amazing screenshots for this game, like in this thread (even the unmodded ones) so I bought this game and it looked pretty bad, the foliage looked horrible and everything seemed really REALLY jaggy, I also got terrible performance... tried to play it but after 20 minutes I gave up and uninstalled the game.

Now these screenshots make me want to install it again, but I just need to know what's up, afaik I had it on highest settings (without AA obv considering I was getting like 20fps)

I lowered some graphical settings and still got terrible performance.

Probably the second most disputed thing about Crysis after its graphics is getting people who criticise its game play to elaborate...
