Why cant someone explain to me why GT said uncharted 2 is the best looking game and the most polished game they ever played man you guys are getting owned so bad on oct 13 it will be sad.

The key to enjoying Crysis' gameplay is your own creativity. Other games set scripted events which give you the "cinematic" experience, butplaying it again and again makes it predictable and eventually dull and boring. Crysis gives you the tools, which are the Nanosuit's abilities,and let's you play however you like. The problem that arrises is that people simply play it like a regular FPS and see no reason to playdifferently because it's not needed. If people actually played it at higher difficulty settings, preferable Delta, they would be forced to useeverything to come out victorious. I agree. Better graphics don't always make the best atmosphere, and quite frankly, imo, Stalker has Crysis beat on this regard. SoC was great, but Clear Sky to me was a disgrace(for numerous reasons) so I'm undecided concerning the third one. Crysis has the best technical graphics out there, but the alien chapters to me ditracted a lot from what made the game great in the first place.

I played through it once with OL and enjoyed it a lot. It's my favorite FPS this generation, but with STALKER Complete it looks like something else...

Probably the second most disputed thing about Crysis after its graphics is getting people who criticise its game play to elaborate...

1. For a sandbox, there's almost nothing to play with in that sandbox. Apparently, you can choose to approach every situation however you want - as long as you don't want to use a vehicle larger than a Hummer (APC in Warhead). Tanks and VTOLs are limited to one level each, and you never get to use a helicopter in single-player, despite the Koreans having plenty to use against you.

2. Everyone loves to show off the physics of turning a shack into sheets of scrap metal with your bare (artificially-enhanced) hands. Yet somehow, a block of C4 that can blow through the armor on an APC is powerless to knock a hole in a cinder-block wall. The rules simply aren't consistent.

3. Go nuts, everybody - you get to choose any angle you want to approach a situation from! Well, as long as you don't mind getting the ridiculous "you are leaving the combat area" message until you find an angle the developers are okay with you using. It's pretty much the equivalent of GTA's insta-drown water... oh wait, we progressed past that point FIVE ******* YEARS AGO.

As a sandbox game, its failures are blatantly obvious. There's no sense pretending that it's anything more than a pretty good standard shooter.

(For context, I replayed Crysis a couple of months ago, on Hard DX9 High. To preempt the inevitable accusations of lying, save files are available on request - so long as no one minds publicly admitting their humiliation after being proven wrong.)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC looks better in screenshots than in movement. Games are'nt made up entirely by textures and resolutions.

On the other hand, you could say the same about Crysis screenies unless you're looking at the few actually playable/non SLI screenies that are posted.

A rig like mine will play Crysis maxed at 1920*1080, no AA at about 25-30 fps average. Sure you may get 40 fps some places but it will also drop to 20 or so when the action gets thick.

Ok, before I go on Crysis rant I'll just summarize my point:

Crysis is still the best looking game out while many console games look better than SoC at this point in time.

Don't be fooled by the screenshots, they don't tell you the whole story.

I was like that when I first bought it, I tried it for about half an hour and couldn't get past the first mission. I didnt play it again for months. Then I downloaded all the4 latest patches and it run tons better. The bug in the first mission was fixed and I made some progress. As the game went on, I was really drawn into the game world, atmosphere and exploration. The beginning is slow but if you keep going the game gets really good.

I've since replayed it with the Oblivion Lost mod and the graphics are awesome, especially at night time, its a lot harder but it makes it so much more scary. My only complaint was constantly having to stop myself bleeding to death. Trust me, if you persevere with the game, it really becomes scary and atmospheric.
