I think all of you misunderstood the topic.
Both Crysis and Killzone were presented as WTFOMGBBQ graphics, both Crysis and Killzone did not end up with those WTFOMGBBQ graphics that we were promised.

Killzone looks the same as the CGI trailer.
Crysis still looks incredible ofcourse.

no, Crysis did come out with those graphics, there are pictures of the game that came out post-release and looked significantly better than the original shots.
[QUOTE="Zeliard9"]Already noted to be mainly differences in time of day, lighting levels, and fog settings. All fairly easily customizable. Someone figured as much and cooked these up in only one hour in the sandbox after seeing that comparison pic:

By the way, I can guarantee you that bottom picture in the comparison is not maxed out. I mean look at the leaves on the bottom. Wtf is that? Anyone who runs the game on very high can tell you it looks much better than that.
Hell, here's a pic of the vegetation I took from the *beta* (you can tell on me, the game comes out in a week), which doesn't have all the graphical settings the demo has. Compare the leaves in my pic to the bottom one in the comparison pic:

Thats under 30fps without any enemies on screen or explosions ... throw in some action and the frames will drop considerably.
Crysis is technically better than any console game, the high res textures, lighting, draw distance, destructable environments, huge amounts of foliage is far too much for any console to handle. While the first screenshots of Crysis were BS it still doesn't take away from the fact the game is technically superior to anything that will ever be released on this gens consoles.com2006
Not more impressive then Killzone 2 or Heavy Rain but thats not till next year.

Funny how a "outdated" console is producing great graphics and pc fanboys get mad.

Crysis >>>>>>>> Killzone 2 that is obvious to anyone with eyes. However the first shot is a bit too good. However not impossible. I played Crysis on high in XP and very high in XP and both look pretty close to the first shot. Also I have seen what people can do with Cryengine 2 in sandbox and I gotta tell you that Crysis on extreme high looks better than the first shot.muscleserge
Lighting is better in Killzone 2 as are the animations.

Lulz u made a funnayIt's too bad Crysis's AI sucked lol. It was still a fun game.loganh92What difficult did you play on?
Its the more realistic a.i in an FPS - in a sense that the A.i. purposely makes human like mistakes, and is completely dynamic.
It did have its fare share of issues, and glitches (the boat gunners for instance), but for what it achieves its phenomenal.
Puts up an impressive fight on Delta mode too.

I dunno about him, but I played on Delta, and I also observed what they did in God Mode. It's virtually like the second highest difficulty (especially when it comes to A.I), but even less features to aid you. Unfortunately Crytek also resorted to amping up the damage taken, when they did something cool with the amount of visual aids per difficulty.
Anyway, the North Koreans don't "purposely" make mistakes. I mean, how could they make the most human mistakes when they can shoot you from a mile away out in the open if they wanted to? Maybe it was because of the huge open levels and fairly non-linear design, but Crysis's A.I was a major ****-up which could easily be resolved in patches, but currently isn't.
"Human" A.I done right is STALKER, and even that has glitches crop up every once in awhile. Regardless, you don't feel the A.I is cheap when they bring you to your knees in that game, but you find them fair play.

True, the damage taken is amped up, however I found it stops you from being an unstoppable killing machine. Still doesent hurt to steal a smg, and run and gun - more than enough ammo to bring down two or three. Canny players would go for the headshots, where there is no body armour, I guess. The a.i. is programmed for the NK soldiers to make mistakes. Small things like soldiers scaling small walls or fences and falling over, tripping on objects, getting knocked down, jumping back in fear, screaming in terror and spraying gunfire everywhere. Or even things like how they pan out and search areas - or react to smokre grenades and flashbangs (smoke grenades in particular is great) - or diving for cover when under sniper fire, and crawling behind cover. Defiantly the most human like behaviour in FPS a.i. Sure FEARs clone soldiers are perfect soldiers (in small linear environments), but they behave as elite soldiers do. Predictably. Crysis's NK soldiers acted more like people do.
I dont see much needing "resolving"... The foot infantry behaves as well as foot infantry should - it has its glitches now and again, and can navigate the changing surroundings very well. The NK nanosuit soldiers behave in an incredible way (except for the minigun toting guys), and the only major NK a.i. problem is the Boat gunners with incredible accuracy - that is just ridiculous quite frankly. Dont get me started on the alien A.i. though. Blech. Just like the Trigens.
STALKER's human A.i? Well tbh im not sure. In terms of battling across environments, and migrating to areas, yes, but in fire fights and combat enemies behave (in a great way) as soldiers do. They dont display human characteristics to an extent like like Crysis's do - specifically 'mistakes' wise - however the a.i is great. Though things like executing wounded guys and stuff is pretty uh 'fantastic', and can really pull you into the world. The human combat a.i. reminds me of FEARs, exept across a wide open areas.
As for STALKERs A.i. being cheap. Well I have one issue in that area. Stealth. It is impossible. The a.i. is incredibly cheap in that department. Nothing sucks more than sneaking up behind a guy for a knife kill, only for him to spin around and jam a sawn off in your face. Erk. Apart from that yeah, they arent cheap at all.
[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"][QUOTE="Gamersince81"]First pic looks sick!!!! Second pic looks worse than HAZE!!!Vyse_The_Daring
Nah, that's impossible.
Btw, that second screen is BS.
How so? That's a relief, but how is it BS?
For starters its not even teh same type of vegetation as the one above, nor does it have any of the same effects in the area.
