[QUOTE="Cpt_Meh"]A few things: I just built new computer. -Core 2 Duo -2 Gig RAM -Sound Card -8800 GTX -SLI ATX Mobo -Soon to be getting a 32 inch HD monitor :) -Don't worry about Quad Core, very very few programs utilize them now, and even the low end Core 2 Duo's outperform them -Don't get the R600. Nvidia is about to drop another GTX that already outperforms it (25% more shaders than the 8800 GTX currently out!) -A GTX with a good processor can run Crysis well on Max settings, or so has been said.

32 inch monitor :o

And I thought my 22" owned. :(

At this point, 2 GTX's is mass overkill, as is quadcore. Just get a board that supports SLI and Quadcore....future-proofing FTW.

I bought a Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe board when I built this computer and sadly I've never used SLi. It seems somewhat of a gimmick. My 6600gt hasn't failed me, although it's definitely showing it's age.

[QUOTE="SergeantSnitch"]It just looks so sexy.mestizoman

i have my brother build my computer for me:oops:

but, seriously, research and find the computer that suits your needs the best..... id wait to go quadcore, im just not that impressed with i believe its called the qx6700, codename kentworth or something.... most games aernt even dual threaded yet

Codename? It's not exactly a secret considering it's been out for about 5 months. But yea games like Alan Wake will almost require a quad core.
