QFT. That guy is running it on 2x 7900GT's--1 of which can only be used(Still more powerful than my GPU) yet it only looks marginally better.
Thats from an 8500GT and I get 20fps @ 800x600.

Thats not possible i have a 7900GT aswell and it runs horrible with high settings, not playable, but well i don't know how many fps means running well for you, it isn't reven unning at constant 30fps at medium settings, the framerate even drops quite strong in some actions at medium settings.
I'm getting 35 FPS constant on high/medium graphics. All you have to do is turn down shadows and shader quality and you won't lose much picture fidelity but get a significant boost in graphics.Vandalvideo
On the subject, my mate reckons that the demo only supports 1 core... is this true?
No one can run this gameDeadmeatWrong. Even a remotely new PC can run the game on graphics comperable tot he vast majority of console games currently out on the market.

Uhhhh...I know it doesn't support SLI yet, but I have no idea about CPUs. I have a dual core though, a rather good one at that. Most of my rig is high end save my graphics card.I played with High settings @ 1280x1024
FarCry Instincts: incredible jumps , powerful punches , fast runs
And CrySis the same thing. You jump off an airplane to an island. fall into the sea , go to the shore , Hud comes up.
Press C to add some accessory to guns . FarCry Instincts with a few mods and awesome GFX and Physics.

[QUOTE="deadmeat59"]i dont need proof if the nvidia 8500gt can only get like 15fps like the guy said then ur going to need like a 9800ultra when it comes outMeu2k7
8500 isnt even a gaming card :S ... or barely.
Agreed, shoulda spent a little more for an 8600
Ok first of all he has the wrong settings turned to high...the main things you need for good visual quality is shaders, objects, and postprocessing. He has high texture quality and water. You won't notice the difference between medium and high textures while playing, and even if you do, it's too much of a performance hit to put them to high. He could then afford to turn shaders up to high, which improves the graphics greatly. Next, objects must be set to high for it to look good, and if he turns water to medium he should probably be able to set it to high. He then must turn postprocessing up as high as possible without hurting his fps (preferrably high). Everything else is fine at medium. I play with those settings (except I put physics on high) and I get 30-45fps on 1280x1024, and it looks amazing.

reason why PC gaming is so annoying # 2392
High Five
I can run it at 1680x1050 with everything on high (DX9). Not sure what everyone is complaining about, although my computer is very very nice.

what me dont understand.
PCs are annoying because its a flexible platform that allow for customizeability? You fail.Vandalvideo
I understand it, so you fail, but nonetheless it is too much totweak. Just read your posts, turn off this,do that, go to the ini file lol I mean come on.Console gaming is so much more fun, pop in the game and play. End of discussion.
Too much to tweak? IT TAKES FIVE SECONDS TO TURN IT FROM MEDIUM TO LOW FROM A SLIDER. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH THE AGONY. Seriously dude, fail.Vandalvideo
I used to spend ages trying to get those few extra FPS in quake back in the day.... come to think of it I don't think I ever really just sat and played the damn game because I felt sure it could look/play/run better than it was.
Console gaming was such a relief to me. Its running how the developers intended it so I can just get on with the game.

yeah and when that doesnt work then I have to check my drivers, and that doesnt work I have to get some stupid work around with .ini files. and that doesnt work then I have to wonder if its my PC or if its the dev who put the game out way tooo early hoping to patch it later. Give me a break, its annoying, and I know alot about computer, I have two that I built. Yes it has better graphics than the next gen consoles, but its a crapshoot the way I see it. ill wait for another console to come out in 3 years that will serve me the graphics that I want. Pop in the game and play, auto installed patched from Live, up and running, click game on. PC is crashing to desktop and I ask WHHHHHHY??????

High five, and the buying public agrees with us as well. PC gaming is a crapshoot, im sorry. I wanted to be a Hermit and then BF2 came out.
OH MY GAWD GUYZ, I CANT RUNZ TEH CRYYSIS AT TEH MAX SETTINGZ.
Seriously, that argument is so incredibly retarded. Would you have preferred if Crytek just made the entire game 2d like the first Wolfenstein, with absolutely no image quality enhancements that you could take advantage of later just so you could run it at "max settings." Max settings is just something people that care too much about their own e-ego whine about. Did you maybe think that perhaps Crytek made it so max settings *weren't able to be easily done using current hardware? You know, so that maybe if you ever played this game in the future, when you had better hardware, the game would STILL look amazing even then? Really, as long as the core gameplay remains intact, and the visuals you are getting in the game are still amazing (and not totally killing your frame rate) why even complain? The only valid complaint is that the minimum requirements to run the game well are indeed very high, but god forbid game developers actually take advantage of newer hardware and actually make technical advancements. Nope, we can't have any of that!
I run it with all high, except shadows and shaders @1280x1024 and get 30+fps, I have posted this like 3 times already, and all I have is a 7900GT. Crysis is very well optimized, but to run it max you'll need next gen cards. If the games isn't running good for you I would suggest you cleen up your PC, cause a lot of people ran the game flawlessly. BTW if you have an 8600/2600 card you shouldn't even be thinking about high setting.muscleserge
Thats a lame lie. If not proove it!

You're blowing it way outa proportion. I haven't had to check my drivers in YEARS because most games come prepackaged with their respective drivers (PWNT). Not to mention I haven't tweaked an INI since my vanilla COD days. YOu're really blowing it out of proportion here dude. I haven't had a single crash or BSOD since what, my Magic Carpet days. 0_oPlease Log In to post.
