[QUOTE="greg_splicer"]You have to be kidding, yes textures are a bit better, but trees are nowhere near as detailed as in Fable 2, more yes, more detailed no
AdrianWerner
Nope...F2 trees look like crap compared to Crysis ones. Crysis trees look like real deal, Fable2 ones are cartooney to hide the low detail level they have. And textures aren't a "bit better" in crysis, they're leagues ahead of Fable2 ones, F2 textures have typycal PC medium settings look. Oh..and look at the crappy grass, pathetic draw-distance and barren empty levels. plus vegetation ends 10 meters from the cemera, from there it's just flat texture. those screens look more like Fable than Crysis.
They look like crap ?? Are you kidding me ? Low detail ? Hahaha right !!! The flat 2D leaves in Crysis trees are better then ?
Tetxures are placeholders, we can come back to that in a year, as for grass, i have not seen better in Crysis to be frank, it looks far worst and far more sparse
Here is a better pic too

Just stop Greg. Make it easy on yourself.

Yep..F2 looks weak. Everything aside from lighting looks last gen, especialy the vegetations(in Crysis it actualy looks like real life, natural grass, plants , rocks etc, in F2 it's just one type of grass blade on low res textured ground. Seriously...that's how it looked i 2004. Fable vegetation is on Far Cry level.
Are they using Fable1 enginr without improvements?
[QUOTE="Pro_wrestler"][QUOTE="Hir0_N"][QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="Pro_wrestler"]How can you compare a fantasy RPG to a Sci-fi FPS?greg_splicer
Just graphiclly, nothing else.
Yes. People need to stop this lame "bu bu not same type of games" excuse. It is easy to compare 2 different genre on the technical aspect as well as in which game is the best. I mean everybody can say Halo is better than Big rigs and they are 2 different genres.
Ok then, lets compare Mario Galaxy to DiRT. Its apparent as to which one looks the best of the two if compared to real life, but wtf is the point other than to say "it looks the best compared to real life?" Makes little sense. Someone could very well choose Mario from an artistic standpoint which could make the graphics better to them, its not always about which one is the closest to reality.. Everyone needs to stop acting all brain washed and Sh*t.
Problem is that Mario does not use all graphical tricks that Dirt does, Fable 2 does use light beams, stunning HDR-lighting, fully defined amazing shadows, fully 3D trees that move etc as Crysis does, and are vastly superior due to the amazing art style, for example Crysis may have shadows but are not as amazing as those falling in that house, or the self shadowing on each tree and grass below
keep in mind those pics are from a 10% ready game, full with placeholders, not touched by the art team, as confirmed in Fable 2 forums, AND taken from a compressed video of course
Ok, so to say Fable 2 looks better is not so much of a stretch as people make it. This thread is as bad as that "FPS' are better on PC" thread.. The 1 dimensional thinking on here amazes me.

If no grass at all is more realistic fine, i have seen no grass in Crysis to be frank, any pics to at least prove your point ?
As for all grass look same and all trees, just wait for the final game, right ? I mean i am not comparing CONTENT here, just the engine
crysis looks crisp and clear. fable 2 is a blurry mess. fable 2 IS an early beta, but crysis pwns ALL anyways.chrisdojo
Maybe the pics were taken from a ...compressed video ???? And that is why it is a blurry mess ? Just maybe .... Crysis does "pwan" it in some areas, falls behind in others
An entire tree in Crysis has more going on it then Fable 2 put together. Sunrays, diffuse transmission, soft dynamic shadows, ambient maps, DX10-level texture maps, fully physical and interactive leaves/brances. Now combine it with several hundred more, dozens of different vegetation types.

Stop talking about all of its technical specs.. we know its the king of technicalities, that does not in any way mean it looks better to someone or even graphically. Thats the point most people are missing. At this point I can care less about how it looks, no one ever mentions how it plays, ever! Making Crysis seem underdelivering in the gameplay area.

I have two, count em', two threads dedicated to the gameplay of Crysis. Two very large, jam-packed threads.Even from an art perspective, Crysis looks better. May I show you an example?
This looks very stylish, the wax-like vegetation really feeds off the vibe.

Shows how much of Crysis have you seen. And I'm comparing the engines and detail and so far Fable2 looks utterly weak compared to Crysis and with 360 as it's main platform it has no chances to even match Crysis, let alone beat it. It's like expecting PS2 game to have Riddick level of graphics. It just won't happen.
Art style aside, Crysis looks better. Anyone who says otherwise is in denial.
And if you've seen the Crysis multiplayer footage, it's not lacking in gameplay. Look at BF2, it was a huge success, but compared to Crysis, it was pathetic ****.
Are... are you people completely insane? Does this question even need to be answered? Does this question even need to exist? Of course Crysis looks better; its not a trick question.
I mean, you really can't argue otherwise. "Art style, art style!" Screw the art style! Fable 2's precious art style, first off, won't do it any good when everything is blurry and washed out and the textures look like someone just poked me in the eye. Secondly, art style? What the hell kind of sissy-ass argument is that? "Conceptual" has virtually no place in system wars. I mean, if I were to take The Mona Lisa and put it up next one of Jackson Pollack's splatter filled suckfests, and asked, "Which one looks better?" you could say Jackson Pollack's painting, but that would make you a gigantic toolbox.
The Mona Lisa is, in every way, technically superior to Jackson Pollack's Autumn Rhythm series just like Crysis' graphics is technically superior to Fable 2's in every possible way, at least at this point in development. The only way one could say that Jackson Pollacks crap looks beter than anything is if they throw in a bunch of conceptual bullsh#$%, and that is not what this argument is about.
Crysis. Looks. Better.

oblivion makes fable 2 look last genimprezawrx500Those pics of fable 2 remind me of warhawk. Because the colors have the same yuck factor.

so explain to me what facry lacks in the gameplay department? it left big name dveloper id software in the dust in 2004 and it was one of the most if not the most technicly advanced game in 2004, bringing the open world to the fps genre and only one fps since then has used it that I know of, stalker. well graw and r6v have some openess but its very limited compared to facry which almost every bit of the game has 2 or more ways to do it. did you read the pc review? best fps since half life on pc. halo is just like your typical unreal/quake coridor shooter.

its only jelose lems that say crysis is all flash with no substance, anyone who has played farcry on pc or read the perviews will know crysis has a lot going for in in game play along.
Seriously, whoever votes for Fable 2 is blind.RobbieH1234
no kidding although fable is sure to be a fun game Cysis is the best looking game ever.

Greg, why would you waste your time on such a silly thought? Get over it. It shouldn't surprise you that the latest software for the latest hardware surpases 2 year old hardware in the 360. The PC is the pioneer in the graphics department.
My advice? Play the dirt demo that's on live, or tear up some russian attack on arcade, download your messiah's podcast over at major nelson's website, or better yet just take a Xanax.
You could possibly say Fable 2 has the better art-style, but Crysis wins for all out graphics any day!daytona_178
That's the best sig ever

I agree. Fable isnt impressive at all compard to crysis. And thats just graphically. Imagine if we take physics, lightings, effects etc... in account.
true true.... imagine then if we take the story of the game and the nonlinear character development and the gradeur of the whole game itself.....then fable is better.
