Crysis. Xbox 360 vs PC version on High (56K).

So I bought Crysis on PS3 along with 2 year warranty because of the buy 60 dollars worth of stuff and get 10 back next month, huge mistake. The game plays worse than it looks and there is no quicksave, epic fail. Maximum buyers remorse.

Actually they said that the Crysis we have on PC wouldnt run on consoles and thats been proven with this ultra dumbed down "remake" on a completely new game engine that was stripped down for Crytek games to work on consoles.

What some PC gamers wont let go of is the lies spewed out by some of you console fanboys. We like to set the record straight, lest we listen forever to it skipping and repeating on lies from the console fanboys. How many times have we heard that the console version is superior to the PC version when it clearly is nowhere near, that PC cant use a controller or be plugged into a TV, that the PC has no games or that PC gaming is dying? Consolites just wont let it go. The real question here is, why cant you fanboys just stop lieing?

Ram really hurts the consoles, otherwise I think they would be able to do a very solid part. It looks good all things considering but, you can see they had to tone quite a bit in certain areas.

How the hell do people get AA on the foilage on Crysis1? I can't get it on my 6950.Fightingfan

Here's a quote from Tweakguides

r_UseEdgeAA [0,1,2] - This setting controls the level of edge blurring applied to reduce the impact of jagged edges in the game, particularly on foliage. A value of 1 applies some mild edge blurring, which can reduce the jaggedness and shimmering of the image, but will reduce FPS slightly; a value of 2 further blurs/thickens jagged edges for another potential drop in FPS. Note this setting will only work if your Shaders Quality setting is on High or above, and can't work in conjunction with normal AA; Edge AA is automatically disabled when regular AA is enabled.

So open up the console in game and type in "r_useedgeaa 2" (without quotations) and it should work for you as long as you turned off the Anti-Aliasing from the graphics menu first. As said EdgeAA and normal AA don't work at the same time. You can only have one or the other.

And it never happened, it is a irrefutable fact that the maxed PC version is impossible to run on the stone age hardware of the consoles. Everybody knows you can port any game to any system with enough draw backs, that is not something to brag about. And the console version looks horrendously bad, but i guess it's better than nothing.

This thread is a complete waste of time, Honestly who here actually believed that the console version would look better than the pc version. I mean COME ON! the requirements for this game when it came out 4 YEARS AGO was higher than what we have in our consoles and they said back then it wouldnt run on consoles. People believe anything sheesh...

However, you have essentially declared everyone as overrating a game that you do not particularly like. So, you're claiming your opinion is worth more than everybody elses?

Killzone 2 has the same MC rating, and Killzone 3 has a lower score.

I said "aren't entirely". There is a certain amount of objectivity gained from having a general criteria in place. I'm also not saying that reviews are "the end all be all."

I'm not even remotely offended, so no need to apologize.

The console version looks awesome, if of course hermits are willing to overlook the low rez teztures and framerate that is. Sadly that will never happen.

Blooming the hell out of the game to hide how it looks doesn't make it better :evil:

I guess if I bought the game on my PS3 then at least I would be able to finish it without the game crashing. It runs smooth as a button until the later levels when it randomly 'stops responding' and I cant continue playing. The same has just happened on Warhead!

I dont think he really believes console version looks better PC. Some hermits say console has better lighting but I like PC lighting .Zensword

It has a more advanced lighting system, since it uses the Crysis 2 one. The problem is that it is hardly used on Crysis because it focused on various light sources and that hardly happens in the jungles of Crysis unlike the city the Crysis 2. The worst part is that most of what it lights doesn't look that good, and in a lot of chances it could be used to show off, the console version has awful draw distance so you will probably just see some bright bloom, kinda mist-fog looking thing on the day and overwhelming darkness that hardly lets you look at stuff in the night. It is a missed opportunity in most cases.
