Crytek Pulling the Plug on PS3 MP Demo of Crysis 2 in 24 Hours

"Thank you for your interest in the PlayStation 3 version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo. Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays. We've identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch."

Bet they didn't like the idea of the buggy PS3 version being demoed the way it was. Last thing you'd want is for PS3 fans to make a bad impression on the demo. Makes me wonder if they really have a fix or if they saying they are so that they can get people to buy the product unknowingly

Would have loved to see the demo back up in the FIXED state to get an idea of what they "resolved" but now PS3 fans buying day one will have to put faith in Crytek.

Too bad because it's fun, though very buggy. It runs way too poorly for its name

I had the same connection problems, and freezes in the 360 demo, and they couldn't even get it fixed for the PS3 version. Have bets on the retail version having a bunch of problems too. Crytek really have been meeting expectations as of late.FIipMode

this games multiplayer sucks, even though in owned at it. i hope the single player is good. a rent at best

I could not get into a match for the past two days, but was finally able to try it tonight. All I have to say is that two matches was enough for me. It literally looks and plays like a budget shooter. While I have no problem with budget games and play my fair share of them, this is supposed to be up there with the best. Too bad that it is not even close. Between the horrible connection issues and how rough it both looks and plays, it is no wonder that they are taking it down. No buy for me. What a disappointment.

Crysis 2 is a failure on all fronts, bring on the next graphical juggernaut, cause that's where all this unnecessary hype is coming from.

i thought 3arc were one of the worst devs to make/port a ps3 game(black ops is watered down on ps3)

crytek actually beat them.....i didnt think it was possible but somehow someone actually lowered the bar....congrats crytek

Crysis 2s SP (Xbox 360, maybe PS3...) looks better than Killzone 3s SP. Just wait and see. :)

I heard about this, and am rather dissapointed, only because I was having so much fun with the demo (when I could actually get into a freakin match). The demo did it's job though. Day 1 buy for me.

Even Killzone 3 has a way better MP than Crysis 2 on PC. This game will fail on the MP aspect. Get a pass on SP.

Yeah it didn't run that great but I did manage to play 2 matches "quite" quickly.

Definitely waiting on the review for this one. The game needs to have a good SP otherwise there's no way I'm getting this.
