Nope, this is exactly the same. Only this is more effective. They could be purchasing ads on these websites like 99.9% of companies do. But, as everyone here knows, nobody pays attention to or talks about advertisements(unless they are Super Bowl ads). So, what they are doing instead is coming up with a clever way to draw attention to the game. A few small $200 checks create more discussion and interest about the game than $100,000 worth of ads would. Smart marketing. Nothing more.

Its not like it is a bribe, if it were do you really think theyd allow itannounced to the public?

To all the people saying it's a bribe, this is EA. If they wanted to bribe someone, don't you think they would give out more than $200?

This is to get publicity, and it's working. It's an unorthodox approach but that makes it all the better.
