Is that Seath the Scaleless at 1:16? Hopefully it'll be a cross between Bloodborne's frenetic combat and Dark Souls' methodical approach. Dark Souls 2 was crap.

Not watching it, but I couldn't order from Asia, too much stuff will be in Japanese that I like knowing.

If it focuses on writing, it wouldn't really be a dark souls game.

And Dark Souls II was overall better than the first. The only things the first did better was highlight bosses, and its interconnected level design. Dark Souls II is better at everything else.

Nah, Demons Souls 5 is just so much milkage for such a recent IP it shouldn't even get a review at this point. :P

Was watching a stream of someone playing the Japanese version last night. Game looks pretty damn amazing!

@texasgoldrush: no DkS II was garbage to DkS. Worse combat, worse levels, worse bosses and the lore didn't even make sense. Couldn't even get myself to beat DkS II. It was a boring chore.

The only things DS2 did right were covenants, multiplayer (sans the horrible soul memory and lag stabs) and the DLC levels. Everything else was trash. The bosses were trash, the disjointed worlds were trash, the half ass implemented torch system was trash, and all the nerfing was trash.

DLC's were the best part of ds2 no doubt

holy **** that trailer was good. but the fact that japan is getting this nearly a month before everyone else and twitch streamers are getting the game 3 weeks before americans is complete shit. it doesn't make sense.

Soulsborne is one of the best series in gaming. I would give it a chance.

Start with DS2. It is much easier than the other 'Souls games.

-Enemies stop respawning.

-You get a ring that nullifies death.

-You get an item that allows you to warp to safety at any time.

-Bonfires (save/safe points) are close together (sometimes right on top of each other).

If you are still having problems you can always summon other players into your world to help you through.

This was confirmed when the release date was announced

Am I the only one that actually liked Dark Souls 2 :-/.

I think people have funny expectations, you can;t expect sequels to consistently outdo the previous instalment on every aspect. Some of the things at first I was sad at, like the removing on enemies after you kill them 15 times, but it was actually a good thing in the end as it stopped you farming.

The torch thing outside of the gutter was fucked though.

One of the top games this year.....most likely but will it be GOTY most likely not. Still want to see if Horizon comes out this year cause that game looks like it can be amazing. Also Zelda is still slated to be release this year and Gears could even turn out to be great.

Why does this look like a PS2 game running on a toaster? I thought it was for current gen consoles.

For me, the thing that made DS2 far inferior to 1 is that the world wasn't really interconnected in the same clever way and the level and boss design was inconsistent. DS1 managed to maintain a sense of wonder throughout but 2 felt like more of a grind.

Bloodborne improved on this though, and I'm optimistic 3 will be better. I'm looking forward to DS3 but I'm not excited for it, a bit of franchise fatigue on my end
