@GhoX: Huh? BB rarely ever dipped this wont either.
Shit community and loads of cheaters... only on PC.
BB dips all the time under 30 fps, and the loading time was atrocious. Dark Souls 2 also has a better anti-cheat system (softban) that's quite sensitive to tampered stats/items/save, while mega mules still run around in BB.
It's obvious which has both unacceptable performance and worse community. I'm not even going to go into the inherent flaws of BB as a dumbed down Souls title.

seems like a better souls title to me, dark souls 2 looks ugly as sin compared to bloodborne
Not to mention the gameplay is actually better too.
Will play it on PC, the best platform for playing Souls games. Best graphics, best community, best achievments, best port quality and best performance. PC JRPG KING. Oooh Yeahh
@jhonMalcovich:
Any word on the system requirements?
Pretty low for recommended.

so basically runs better on nvidia cards.
and some low gpu specs there.
@commander: Souls games have run well on any cpu gpu so far and can usually run on lowest-end pcs. They are pretty much optimized games, which is pretty surprising considering that it's a Japanese dev.
I played some of the first one and it never gelled with me at all, obviously I never finished it.
Yeah, they're definitely not games for everyone lol.
On the one hand, they're just odd in design. The game loop is one that requires almost constant death, especially so in the early hours. There's really never room to breathe either. It's not like most rpgs where you can get to a safe town and just chill for a bit. Then you have the fact that the games do not explain anything clearly at all. I actually dig that stuff, but it's an acquired taste for sure.
Then you have the other detractors like poor performance at times, occasional glitches, and at times, some straight up shoddy level design or questionable game design. The games are "diamonds in the rough" to me.
Who knows, you might get into it some day. When I first picked up Demons Souls I didn't like very much. I binge played it for a day, but then just gave up on it. When I came back to it later though, it ended up becoming one of my favorite titles of last gen. I've heard plenty of similar stories about people getting into Dark Souls as well. Once those games sink their teeth in, they just don't let up.

I can't say it was any of that tbh, I just didn't get on with it. It's difficult to explain, some games I've picked up and hated others I've picked up and loved but Dark Souls was just.... I don't know, the only word I can think of is 'flat', it really didn't do anything for me. I certainly don't hate the series and I can see why it would appeal to gamers wanting a challenge and a game that doesn't hold your hand.
Batman Arkham Asylum was kind of the same but I did eventually get into it and enjoyed it. So who knows, one day I may load it up again and give it another go and maybe even enjoy it.

Cool man, understood. I have games like that as well. Stuff like GTA and Halo for example. I see the appeal, I really do. They just don't scratch any itch for me. I'm completely neutral on those games. No love, no hate, just "meh".
I think part of the underlying appeal with the Souls games for me is that they fill a void. This may sound like a really dumb reason, but I love some old school Castlevania games. To me, the Souls games are kind of what I imagine a modern Castlevania should be. The interconnected level design, the haunting world, the challenging boss fights, strange weapon and item pick ups, occasionally challenging platform navigation.
But yeah, more on the surface stuff, these games just offer an old school feeling in general. I always find the "So hardcore!" arguments to be really lame. Yeah, against the backdrop of modern AAA gaming they may seem that way. But for us guys who have been gaming since back in the day? The Souls games just recapture that old magic which is something that you usually only find in an indie game these days.
Haha, sorry for the memory lane ramble there.

It's all good. I've been gaming the best part of 40 years (I was 5 or 6 when my dad bought my first TV video game machine), I've learned in that time that not every game is for me. Anyway I usually head for RTS games when I want to get my ass kicked, or feel like a god when things are going my way :)
@GhoX: Um no it really doesn't.. maybe at launch? And the load times were cut in half as well.
Wow hold on a second, does this game seriously only run 30 frames on consoles?
What the hell?

Bloodborne dips and stutters regularly. It's almost constant in some areas.
Maybe you're just used to that shit, but it's the only PS4 game I play, and coming from gaming on a PC, it's extremely noticeable. Unless they fixed it in the past month (that's about how long it's been since I've played it) then nope, it's still there.
But yeah, you're right about the load times. They're pretty much a non-issue.

Yeah, From Soft makes some cool ass games, but they're not very optimized games by any stretch.
yeah but you need ps plus, i did buy it for 29 , game of the year edition
GOTY Edition isn't even out. There is the Complete Edition but it is 49$ CAD which is 39$ USD.
well that's what it says on my playstation, that was a digital purchase though. Base game + dlc
oh let me correct that, it doesn't say goty, but I could swear it said that when I bought it.
On the other hand I could also have imagined that lol but I did get the base game plus the dlc for 29.99 euros, which is about the same as dollars now if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, waaw
I'm ready to not buy nor play it :P
sorry, I dont like that type of game.
That's the spirit, finally a sound man in a dark soul thread .... these games dun have good gameplay.
Well, some people like that type of gameplay. For me learning each new enemy and dying a bunch to find out its patterns isnt fun to me, let alone all the environmental stuff that can kill you.
