Odd coming from someone with a skyrim sig.If DS came to PC and someone made a quicksave mod for it, or better yet it would have it out of the box, I'd jump on it.ManicAceWouldnt that ruin the risk and the sense of danger/threat and communicative mechanic of the game?

Odd coming from someone with a skyrim sig. Skyrim is SP. DS is an online game. The modding community would ruin the online experience of DS. it would become a cheatfest.[QUOTE="ManicAce"]If DS came to PC and someone made a quicksave mod for it, or better yet it would have it out of the box, I'd jump on it.illmatic87Wouldnt that ruin the risk and the sense of danger/threat and communicative mechanic of the game? Exactly. The very nature of this game doesn't make sense for PC. Keep it on Consoles.

Yeah, that RPG Maker game is funny case :) Same thing with PC Fable adventure game.
From Software's Dark Soul would fit PC very well, but unfortunatelly it's not likely to happen. At most I can see them licensing the IP for MMO.

I dont think it would even be the same game since they would have to remake the combat system for keyboard and mouse controls that are the PC standard input method
Nah, the combat would actually work pretty well on mouse and keyboard. It's not some Bayonetta-level hack and slash. The combat sysem is slow and based on timing, so it would benice fit for mouse and KB altough I agree it could be further improved if they would use full capabilities of mouse.I think it would not work at all with keyboard and mouse, since it would feel nothing like when playing with a pad, the fact that you would walk with the keyboard already means would be nothing like the pad controls
Add the non analog mouse camera control that would be the usual mess and i doubt it would be any fun to play it like that, would loose 99% of its appeal

You dislike mouse and keyboard? I'm shocked, I think it has less to do with it being a mouse and keyboard and more to do with it not being a 360 controller.
Mouse and keyboard seem to work fine for the Witcher series, its not as hack n slash as Dark Souls but its fine none the less. In before you say you have played W2 with mouse and keyboard and how awful it was.
modding wouldnt work in the normal sense, it would have to force offline and tbh its part of the souls games it feels strange without it.

Oh..I thought you had actual reasoning behind this outside of the usuall "I feel this way". Seriously, it would fit better on mouse+KB than FPSes do on 360 pad.

And if it were optional it wouldn't ruin it for the more hardcore.
Horrible assumption considering the CRPG is home well, on the PC. Still is a mainstay, and a game like Dark Souls and or Demon's Souls would translate well, as it shares a lot in common with the lineage of dungeon crawlers dating back to Ultima Underworld. That being said it most likely wont be ported.I doubt the amount of people who would buy it on PC would justify the decision.

You're talking about the game that still depends on a lock-on system to make up for the lack of targeting using a thumbstick, as a problem on the PC? Well you're just horribly wrong to be blunt, especially when games like Gothic exist on the PC.I think it would not work at all with keyboard and mouse, since it would feel nothing like when playing with a pad, the fact that you would walk with the keyboard already means would be nothing like the pad controls

I think Dark Souls has a million times better combat system than Gothic, that is exactly what i had in mind when i said will far worst on PC

guessing you've not played it :S it would require serverside work for mods and certain portions to work, DS isnt your typical online and join a server type game. The only way for mods to feasably work in my eyes would be force offline mode like it does when your in an xbox live party.
The game wouldn't work well on PC. The only real benefit it would have would be smoother framerate and better AA. Other than that, it would be worst in every way. The game is designed with consoles and a controller in mind. Even though you CAN use a controller on PC, it doesn't mean that it would be the most played method for the majority (it's like argueing that the PS3 has Keyboard and Mouse support).
But Dark Souls's combat system would be million times better on PC, thus delivering combat system that's billion times better than Gothic one.I think Dark Souls has a million times better combat system than Gothic, that is exactly what i had in mind when i said will far worst on PC

I did and I see nothing about it that would make modding impossible. I think it's you who haven't played many online PC games if you think modding wouldn't work here online.guessing you've not played it :S

I completely agree that Dark Souls' is better in combat, however Gothic's works marvellously with a mouse and keyboard, without fiddling with cycling targets as you're trying to prioritise threats. Same with lets say, Lugaru and Overgrowth.I would much rather play Demons Souls with a mouse and keyboard than the controller. I haven't played Dark Souls, but I'm assuming the control scheme is similar. Why would more precise controls be worse?PurpleMan5000
because they are not analog or fluent
Trying to walk with a keyboard and moving the camera with a mouse is the single worst experience i had in gaming
And one of the main reasons i moved to console gaming almost compltly and would never buy the PC version of any game if i can get it on consoles
How? Controllers work on the PC perfectly, there's a huge array of controller centric games on the PC, and mouse and keyboard support could be done very well - even games like Batman Arkham Asylum actually pulled off extremely impressive support for such a game using a M&KB. Input devices as the sole reason isn't terribly strong. The game wouldn't work well on PC.

but the whole way the servers work compared to others would make it a hard obstacle to overcome :S all i could really see is mods like UI ones seen in WoW and the sorts to be honest as the servers themselves would need to adapt and change for mods every time a new one appeared, it would be best if From just for the sake of pure simplicity on their end and in general stability force offline if you wanted to use mods :S
Not really. Look at two new Neverwinter games (facebook one and the upcoming Cryptic MMO). They both have tools connected to servers and allow gamers themselves to construct their own adventures. Even with games that are on developer's servers modding is possible, you just need to do it properly.but the whole way the servers work compared to others would make it a hard obstacle to overcome :S

It's a Japanese game and Japanese devs aren't too fond of the PC platform.

Odd for someone that apparantly lives in Japan to not know of all the Japanese PC games. Here's a list of some of upcoming Japanese PC games, note that a few are for the PSP in that list:
