I am not saying Darksiders is better then all Zeldas. Infact A link to the past is my favorite game of all time. It's just better then Twilight princess.

Both are adventure and both share the same format, dungeons, unlock weapons to progress, etc. Start out week and then get strong

Darksiders is not as long but a much higher quality and entertaining game. Agree?

nope, i didnt really like tp but darksiders is way to easy, way too short, and has nothing along the lines of sidequests and what not.

What did Darksiders ever do to you guys? I've seen a disproportionate amount of "those" threads about it.

And TP doesn't also suffer from these issues as well? I'm not trying to bag TP, I loved TP and brought a Wii on launch because of it, but there is no denying TP was too easy for its own good and its side quests were pretty pitiful, seriously the only side quests it had was like collect 24 bugs or 60 poes, etc. Not very exciting stuff there, although at least it had very long story which made up a lot for the lack of side quests.

i mean, zelda games just have those little side things they dont really tell you about that you can do. for example, the fishing in oot, and being able to get the upgraded scale there and what not. you can play pretty much that whole game and not go there. for darksiders, you play the story, and thats pretty much it.

I could care less why either one is better, but this is just a pretty insipid statement.

I doubt it so much, since I considered TP a natural progression from OOT, I liked it a ton, I haven't played Darksiders, but I doubt it can match its uniqueness in terms of human/wolf combat/explortation, variety in stages, variety in general gameplay (I heard Darksiders was a lot of non-stop fighting and basic puzzles), etc, etc. Also epic boss fights, not difficult, but the ones in TP were pretty cool.

In my case I haven't played Darksiders nor I'm interested of doing so, but I'm anxiously waiting the next Zelda game. All said.

Ugh it really grinds my gears when people are trying to draw a connection between Darksiders and Zelda...without even playing the game. The crossblade (aka boomerang) is the weakest element in Darksiders puzzle solving sections, required only in the simplest tasks such as hitting switches or transfering fire.

It's an insult to insinuate that Darksiders plays anything like Zelda, and vice versa.

Seriously, Can I just say Darksiders is the darkest Legend of Zelda game I've ever played? I don't want to compare these games. Comparing them would be insulting what both games do.

I love Zelda... and I was excited for Darksiders long b4 anyone ever knew that it was a Zelda-esque game.I finished the game this morning at 4am and I absolutely loved it.... Cannot wait for the sequel.... PLease if you love/like Zelda, but want something a little darker/more mature, pick this game up.... you won't be disappointed.

Zelda TP vs Darksiders...

Combat - Easy win for Darksiders

Story - Darksiders wins, sure the dialogue is a bit cheesy at times... but the story is far more unique and interesting.

Sound - GOtta give it to Zelda TP just because the Zelda score is EPIC!

Graphics - well, you know... Gamecube vs 360... kinda silly to bother talking about graphics... except that aside from the technical stuff.... Darksiders has some of the best art direction this generation..... War's Steed, "RUIN" is awesome... and Ulthane, just plain cool stuff.

Controls - tie... both games control just fine.

Puzzles - Zelda's are more difficult, but there are a few in Darksiders that might make you scratch ur head for a min.

PS. I've been a Zelda fan since the original on the NES.

I just finished Darksiders and the game is epic. It is one of the best I have played this generation. The story is awesome, the characters, combat, I mean everything is awesome. I loved the ending as it didn't suck like so many other games this Gen. I never played TP, but from what I know of other Zelda games I have played, Darksiders is the better game to me because of its darker more adult tone. This is really a subjective thing. everyone will have their own opinion of it and no one will be wrong if they say one is better than the other. The only person wrong here is the guy that said it was a fact that Zelda was better. Its not. It is up to your tastes in games.

agreed... both games are quality titles, the fact that Darksiders is being compared (in quality) to a series as respected as Zelda, should tell people just how good of a game it is.

Darksiders is a full-fledged current gen game.

TP is a game that was released over three years ago and originally made for the GCN.

You'd think that Darksiders being better (Assuming it's of the same genre) would be a bit of a given.

I haven't played Darksiders, might rent it. The style really turns me off, and same as the combat. Twilight Princess was a fantastic game though, but I did suffer from lack of side quests and its low difficulty.

In combat, yes its better (though Darksiders' combat is getting a bit stale and button mashy) but in the other aspects, no. As a whole TP was a better game. More polished as well.

Although I agree that TP was certainly not hard, like most recent zelda games, i thought the difficulty was mostly right. It wasn't so easy that you were bored playing. I do hope Zelda wii has more of a challenge to it though, at leastcombat wise. DS's combat was more challenging then zeldas(though, still not hard), it's puzzles were no where near the level of that tp presented.

As for "side stuff"i disagree with you. Sure, alot of your rewards were hearts or spomething similar, but there were lots of varied things to do in the world. Fishing, canoeing, flying and snowboarding minigames all could earn you heart pieces/upgrades. You could free the goron in the molten rock, compete in claw shot challenges in the circus thing, and caves/areas to explore that weren't necessary to the main quest.. including the cave of ordeals.

I'm currently on the hunt for the last remaining items i've missed before i finish finding the fragments of the blade, and i thinkDarksiders is a good game, but it has nothing on Twilight Princess. It's lack of polish in comparison and stupid block mechanic alone are enough for me to see TP as superior. but it's worth mentioning that i'm one of the few around these parts that believes tp is the best zelda has offered us, not to mention one of this gens(and last gens) best games! :)

I really dig the game, but that is also one of my complaints. The camera is fairly atrocious near walls as well. It would also be better if the camera was further out as opposed to being zoomed in so close to War. As fighting mobs sometimes turns into a battle with the camera because it is so hard to see when you are surrounded. Other than those issues, I'm really enjoying it.

i lol'd

becouse you think people will belive this

im sure there are people out there who played both, and im sure a smal part of them think Darksiders is better

but the rest of the world disagrees, every site, even someone as crazy as GS

TP is currently 95% and 94% for wii version on gamerankings, and it beats the crap out of most games this gen

(which is sad becouse a GCN game owns most games this gen)

Twilight Princess was not one of the better Zelda games.

Saying Darksiders is better than TP isn't saying much. :(

Shad0ki11

I strongly disagree.

Twilight Princess boasts some of the best dungeon design in the history of the series, and a dark and interesting narrative that is packed to the brim with moments of beautiful poetry.

It is easily superior to Ocarina of Time, at least equal to Wind Waker (certainly longer, and more challenging), and, whilst it can't quite reach Majora's Mask (no shame there; MM is a goddamn masterpiece) it certainly manages to cement itself as at least its heir and perhaps the best realisation of the conventional Zelda formula to date (MM being largely outside of that formula, in my estimation).

I think the years will be very kind to it (a recent side by side playthrough of it and Wind Waker supported this belief) and eventually the hatred will give way to studied admiration, as has been the case with at least a few other entries in this series.

Suffice it to say, I find the notion that Darksiders could match TP, much less beat it, completely laughable.

Agreed that from tangible standpoint Twilght Princess might just be the best of the "traditiona' 3-D Zelda formula. But too much of the game was OoT influneced and what the other Zeldas had already done, if it weren't for Midna and her part of the story I would say TP lacked its own soul, its own identity out of all the Zelda games.

To me persoanlly, Twilight Princess was the jack of all trades Zelda, without bringing in its own thing. It didn't have anything else going for it other than being the most refined, polished, and exceptionally designed Zelda games. As a game thats great, but it's Zelda it's a series people just expect more from.
