I had this on 360 but I sold it becaused it had washed out graphics, If any of you game on PC i recommend you get this game it is brilliant! 1080p and no jaggies, its like a mix of God of War and Devil May Cry. Check it out people :)

waltefmoney

Washed out graphics on 360? That's weird because on my PS3 the graphics were vibrant colors and very clean looking. And people are saying multiplats look better on 360? I'm thinking otherwise about multiplats for the last couple years now it seems the PS3 has equal to better ones.

The two version are pretty much equal. And no, time will not change the fact the 360 is simply easier to develop for.

They must not be playing on a very good TV. The colors of the games I play on my TV look way-way more vibrant than that. You know people who make those videos and comparisons can do a lot of different things to make the game look the way they want to on each system don't you?

And if devs don't understand how to develop the same for each system by now then they're idiots. My bother in law John that work for Dreamworks here in Utah says that for the first 2 years that was true, but since then it's not. Don't hold on to the past.

Yeah, they can. But we're talking about games that are already out, right?

[QUOTE="spliff_man"]Well the controls are pretty responsive on my system, I limited my cpu to only proces 1 frame at a time, button responses are great for every game. Just plugged my 360 controller in and it works great :) To me graphics make a significant impact, makes the experience more immersive. First time I ran it on pc i was like woah :)Frozzik

Can you post a few screens from your rig? I wanna see the difference between the PC version and the console versions.

From what i have read the difference is Resolution and indeed AA and AF. Screen shots will not show the benefit of resolution, obviously, they should show AA and AF though.

I will take a few screenshots later on tonight, I dont know if a picture will do it justice, there's probably gameplay videos on youtube in 1080p, you should check that out and see for yourself :) Its a great game engine aswell im getting a constant 60fps

weird, I remember that being one of my main issues with the console version of the game.

according to the gamespot PC review:

  • Next to no graphics settings to fiddle with
  • Convoluted, occasionally unresponsive controls
  • Throwaway story and lead character.

console review:

  • Controls are overly complicated and sometimes unresponsive
  • Absurd and meager story.

I guess you're lucky if you're not experiencing the same problems that the majority of us have experienced.

I don't understand all the hate this game gets. I have enjoyed Darksiders on the PC far more than I did playing other games in the genre. Including God of War 3 or Bayonetta.

gillri

better than those two? nice try

Nice try? I think both of those games are overrated and Darksiders falls right into around an 8/8.5 for me. My opinion, BRO.

What the heck is with all the Darksiders hate? It's one of the most fun games ive played all year.

Stringerboy

my issues with the game (in addition to everything I already stated).

the gathering in the end game felt extremely tedious after the last dungeon.

the combat was extremely easy on apocalyptic mode, there really wasn't too much of a challenge.

none of the dungeons were nearly as fun as the portal dungeon. It was the only dungeon I truly enjoyed.

the introduction was too action-packed for the rest of the game. when you started the first dungeon, the game slowed down considerably.

it felt like this game didn't know what it wanted to be, a platformer? a puzzler? a hack-n-slash? when the game is compared to the greats such as devil may cry, bayonetta, god of war, and ninja gaiden, I expected there to be non-stop action with a decently steep learning curve (especially at the difficulty I was playing it at). The combat in comparison to those games felt watered down (even in comparison to god of war - yes.) The zelda-esque puzzles were alright, but for ripping off zelda it didn't do nearly as good of a job as 3D Dot Game Heroes.

Just finished it on PS3, the combat gameplay is not near god of war or bayonetta. The story is OK, not bad, but not good. And even with better graphics, these points remain the same.

Couldn't bring myself to finish the game. Still, I may try it again some time in the future.

Graphics weren't that great, but I kind of liked the artstyle. I don't know about the PC version, but I don't think the difference is as great as you make it sound.

Fair enough, i guess im just a sucker for action adventure games then lol

I guess you can just say I'm nitpicking but for me it felt like a chore completing the game. Most of the time I complete games I don't enjoy just so I can voice my opinion :/

I can see how this would be very enjoyable to the dedicated fans of the action/adventure genre - and the PC gamers who don't get to see those genres often.

Well, Darksiders on the PC has an 84 on Metacritic. The console versions are up in the lower 80's also. Its fair to assume that many people disagree with all the hatred this game is receiving on SW. If you're not an avid fan of the genre, which many people appear not to be, then its no surprise you found it boring.

which genre? platforming? hack-n-slash? adventure? puzzles? I'm a fan of nearly every genre but fighters/driving. GS rated it an 8/10 despite the negative things they had to say about it.

it was way better than dante's inferno (came out around the same time) but that doesn't say a lot.

It is really good. It mostly doesn't deserve the weird wave of haters that it's attracted (Zelda fans? :? ). I wouldn't call it brilliant, but part of the reason I like it as much as I do is that I see the potential for it to become brilliant.

I would have got the PC version for sure had it been out when I wanted to play it. :x

At no point during the demo was I ever reminded of Devil May Cry. It felt more like a God of War clone and a cheap rip off of Zelda.

It was rhetorical. All you have to do is look at the GS info page or Steam and it says: "Action Adventure"

The beginning of the game is by far the worst part. That's why they gave you the whole first dungeon, because they were paranoid that everyone would play through the mashy combat-heavy first parts and cease to give a ****.

It's a rip-off of Zelda for sure, but I don't think it's fair at all to say that it's cheap because it doesn't live up to Zelda's quality. The huge majority of platformers don't live up to Mario either, but no one really expects them to because they're not made by Nintendo.

In this case I think it's pretty impressive what the dev has accomplished considering it's their first-ever game.

OH nice! kinda makes me curious on why the game is even compared to bayonetta or DMC. kind of explains why the combat felt watered down in comparison to both of those.

always makes me laugh when someone considers a game's mechanics as 'mashy'. That's the play style of the player (mashing - which I'm assuming you did), whereas many players can tackle that type of combat with precision.

Most new releases are (in the UK at least).

No, I mean that it is $10 cheaper on consoles and it's a late port.

You'll notice that I wasn't talking about the entire game.

In the first section of the game there's little to to but mash x (and y, if you buy the scythe) and occasionally block. Once you get more abilities it becomes deeper.

That's why it's not the best time to spam you with enemies as if it were GOW, which is what makes the intro really tedious.

If you read or followed the game at all before it was released, the Devs where going for a GoW/Zelda clone from the get go. They coulda done a lot better with the hack and slash/dungeon segments no doubt, but they could have been worse
