This was my biggest fear in regards to Halo 3. Bungie took the safe route(and lazy route in my opinion) anddid not spend the time nor energy in order to make this game truly epic on all levels. We all know the story and gameplay will most likely be good but will they be epic as this game should and could have been? Doesnt sound and look like it to me. As for the visuals, I think the game looks good but no where near as it could have and should have looked.

With the amount of money and time MS poured into this game it should have looked amazing on ALL levels. The xbox360 is such apowerful systemand there is no excuse why this game couldnt have looked amazing while still keeping true to the "Halo art ****" I will still be picking up my pre-order, however, I'm pretted pissed and disappointed in Bungie. Out of all the developers out thre I just expected more out of them.

None of the Halo games have been visual tour de forces, but they are all remarkably solid and a blast to play. The story is well done, and the balance has been suberb. What Halo looks like to me is secondary to how it plays, and no one's opinions of the graphics is going to sway that.

Okay, explain to me how Bungie could have changed gameplay in a way that would :

a) improve upon an already close to perfect formula

and

b) Wouldn't alienate the people who've previously enjoyed Halo?

The equipment is a brilliant idea, graphics are amazing, the story will be great, the level designs will be massive and online multiplayer will be out of this world. There's no reason anyone who enjoys FPS and has a 360 should pass it up.

These are all very possible scenarios:

Halo 3 gets 9.5- Lemmings claim ownage and prance around SW. Halo shows it's still top dog in the console shooter world.

Halo 3 gets 9.0- Some will say it was a minor flop others will say it's still amazing. Halo 3's crown is up for grabs by other console shooters now as far as scores are concerned considering 9.0 is beatable.

Halo 3 gets 8.5- If Halo 3 gets 8.5, you simply don't want to be anywhere near SW. Imagine Zelda TP times 10. :?

I agree. However, is there a reason why we couldn't have had both amazing gameplay as well as visuals? Is there a rule somewhere that says if you have amazing gameplay that amazing visuals cannot be done?

I know what you are saying but this guy was acutally able to see the game being played up close. He can judge how the game is coming along much better than any of us and he says it looks pretty much average to good. I don't know about the rest of you guys but when I hear the name Halo, I'm expecting something more than just average or good. I expect it to be amazing. I'm sorry, I really think Bungie was lazy on this one.

How's that? The game has better textures seen in the first trailer. The only thing different is the MC's armor. In the game, it's polished and has no scratches on it.

Ok and thats is fine by me. Honestly what were some of you guys expecting. I love the way halo looks and how it plays its a fun freaking game.

Didn't people say the same thing about the Beta? Didn't they say it before they noticed smaller things about the game and how Equipment comes into play and how it changes up gameplay. In the end, Halo 3 is a Halo game and a sequal, the formula won't be changed, if it was it wouldn't be Halo.

It was real time. They even proved it. Believe it or not, that's the Halo 3 engine. Bungie chose to change the texture of the MC's Mjolnir armour as a result of the artists decision.

Stop spreading your slanderous lies, Bungie said it was in engine, not real time, those are target renders, that's what they were shooting for, and have confirmed they're using the exact same model with the same amount of polygones only without the grainy armor.

Yeah Halo should have art from this time period and have men in gas masks. :| That guy saw one small part of Halo 3 and he thinks he knows how the full game is going to be. :roll:

Just the fact that Halo 3 isn't being mentioned in any sites top 5 of game of the show speaks volumes. This game is the most hyped game of the past 3 years. After the demo showing its like it was lost in all the other games and rarely spoken about. games like Kill zone 2, COD4, Liar, Bioshock, and other games were talked about more than Halo 3.
