Day One Sales in Japan: Crisis Core v.s. Pokemon

Where the hell are all those people that say a psp is a flop? this is quiet ironic when the best selling game of the year happens to be a psp game in japan (Monster Hunter) and yet people still have the **** to call the psp a flop.

PSP is a flop because it didn't meet it's hype of being the "Nintendo killer." It's far from a failure however.

Btw, if you really want to compare sales, use an actual Pokemon game (Diamond/Pearl, Ruby/Sapphire, Gold/Silver, Red/Blue) instead of a spinoff game. Mystery Dungeon doesn't even begin to reflect the real popularity of Pokemon.

Now how many people have said the CC will be a huge game for the PSP? Probably its biggest game? It's obvious. As they said compare killer apps to killer apps.

your argument is WEAK. you said FF is attached to its name? well POKEMON is attached to that DS game... Pokemon, the company that probably by now has one of the biggest followings of gamers ever.

way to spin the facts. did you forget the DS has probably at least double the user base then the psp.. that alone should ensure the casuals to flock to anyting pokemon related. as opposed to a much more hardcore game like crisis core with a small user base.

actually yes, yes it is.. according to famitsu standards which gave games like blue-dragon (6.0) a higher score. and im sure you know about how famitsu rates games.

im not trying to say the game isn't good. i bet its going to own and prob get 9s in the us. all im saying is how famitsu scored it.

Famitsu does have some bizarre ratings, like nintendogs getting a perfect score. Don't however, let some strange reviews like that make you think that famitsu has very low standards, they aren't much more lenient than most western reviewers. Anyway, western previews have been quite positive so far, and I doubt it will be rated much lower over here.

Comparing that to the lat generation of consoles, that owuld be like the psp selling as much as the xbox and the gamecube combined, plus a few million. that's not too bad. it isnt winning, but it's selling pretty well and there are quite a few good games on it.

The only real reason it isn't selling well is because it lacks enough portable-style games. It needs more lumines and every extend extra extreme.
