Days Gone is Gone to PC

I still haven't pulled the trigger on Horizon: Zero Dawn so definitely not going to pick this one up..

Good on Sony though, this will surely continue to be a trend moving forward.. Once God of War and Bloodborne come to Steam, I'll likely go ahead with some purchases depending on price and my backlog..

Sony's going to have to drag some of you fanboys kicking and screaming but get used to your precious "exclusivez!!1!" coming to PC.. it's just the direction the industry is heading..

doesn't matter if it's 3.5 years, 2 years, 1 year, 6 months, or shorter.. once the pattern becomes set and PC gamers know that PlayStation titles are going to definitely come to Steam later, there's "no reason to buy a PS5 anymore" for those that prefer PC..

and there's nothing wrong with that.. it's pro-consumer and Sony is still getting paid regardless..

Runs awesome on PS5. And was still a looker on PS4.

mechanically it's really not a bad game. it's just hamstrung by it's slooooow pace. if they took an axe to the first 10-15 hours when you're basically just running errands for your injured mate and introduce the hordes much earlier it might've been a very different kettle of fish. still, wouldn't mind seeing how a high end rig handles a huge zombie horde giving chase

Multi-platform wins again. 😂

Really hope Dreams comes next. It's just one of Sony's best IPs, and the game that would benefit the most with that community increase.

@ermacness: Believes in exclusives? Like the exclusives that are now coming out on pc, or the exclusives they promised would be on ps5 only because they “Believe in generations”?

I mean, if the games comes out on pc years after they've been released on the ps5, then that kinda sucks. If the pc version of new ps5 games launch in the first 3 months, then my ps5 will be on ebay real quick.

I think some PC players will actually enjoy it. I'm 8 hours in the game and it gets better and better

Honestly every time a Sony game goes onto PC that is a good thing for Sony and for gamers in general. I simply dismiss the idea that it is bad news for anyone. The cultish loyalty to a box of plastic is simply beyond me.

You're "waiting" on the ps exclusives, while with MS, you're playing them now, or waiting on the same day as the lems. I never said that those games will stay exclusive, but Sony won't be taking the Xbox route of doing exclusives in the near future. So yeah, they do believe in exclusives.

That's cool. The game is a lot better than I thought. Hopefully they optimize it well for PC.

@ermacness: With previous generations, Sony didn’t release games on any platform other than PlayStation. Not that I like the idea of exclusives, but Sony have changed their policies...of that there is no doubt. Timed exclusives nowadays.

PC and PS5 owners win. Poor lems still have no games.

I platinumed the game, but the game did get off to a deadly slow start. If they ever make a sequel to it, that's the main thing they need to address is the pacing. Outside of that, I kinda enjoyed it.

Great news, looking forward to more Sony games coming to PC.

Hopefully it's a solid port, but I won't hold my breath. The PS4 version did not perform all too well.

@Macutchi: Days Gone is great. Sure there are lenghty movie scenes, but there is also plenty of exciting gameplay. The game is just too long. If I were a PC gamer I would pick it up. If only to annoy some of the ardent cows on this forum... The reason to buy a Playstation will diminish in the future if Sony continues to bring their exclusives to other platforms. Not that I care.

@ghosts4ever: define movie game? You obviously are confused. 50+ hours in an open world and it's still a movie game? Is giving effort to game narrative a negative or something?

I love how they're still being vague about their plans on PC. Should I still hold onto my theory that they plan on selling games that might not succeed on the PS5 but would otherwise have an audience on the PC?

Keep in mind that they also own Lemmings, an MS-DOS classic. Another PlayStation IP that I think can work as a PC exclusive is SingStar, because modding and rhythm games seem to go REALLY well together and assuming they can get a team to make a SingStar game that's easy to reverse engineer, Sony can REALLY cheap out on music licensing.

And in those very same generations (well most of them anyways) MS had exclusives. Times are changing and even I acknowledge that in the future (I'm not going to say "near future" due to the fact that there's a desire for them now) exclusives may be a thing of the past, but as of now, everyone BUT Google and MS still supports exclusives.

Exactly, great points! Why wouldn't Sony do this? Seems foolish that they wouldn't...I certainly double dipped today. I finally pulled the trigger on this game. I beat it on PS4 and loved it....always said as soon as their was a PC release I would snag it. This was one of my favorite IP's from Sony and for me personally rate it as one of my top 10 across all platforms last gen.

Myself, I waited for the kinks to be worked out but right now, current state..... every setting maxed at ultra, it runs 100+ fps (on the low side) @ 3840x1600 ultrawide. Very prosumer of Sony. I have a high end PC (10900k/RTX3090/custom water cooled hard loop) but I still very much enjoy my consoles on the living room big screen and sound system...these decisions are a win win for me.

I've never played RAGE 2. But sure.

days gone is very underrated. i had tons of fun playing it on ps5. gunfight is quite similar to rdr2 and horde mode is fun.

Sony has been talking about bringing more and more of their lineup to PC. Really don't see a point of owning either consoles this gen.

I loved the game when I played it on PS4, and I'm super happy PC gamers get to play it now. The more people get to play the better. I seriously hope Sony starts putting all their 1st party games on PC, even if it's years late. I typically go PS/PC every gen so if I can eliminate the need to buy a redundant console that's $500 more towards games. That would be peachy.
