Days Gone is underrated and should be GOTY so far.

Days Gone was alright, not even worth to be nominated for GOTY.

The fact that this is even being debated means it shouldn't be game of the year.

This post was absolute garbage. That said, yes, Days Gone isn't as bad as reviewers said. No, it is not GOTY... in any category.

Hehe. Just gotta jump in here and say; it's weirdly funny seeing one of Shy's videos here. Maybe some context here and for @sealionact, @jcrame10, @cainetao11 and anyone else who see that video is in some order...

I'm a subscriber, or as Shy (one of her nicknames) might call someone like me, a "scum" - she likes to berate her viewers for comedy. She's more of a Warframe-centric YouTuber, and also more about entertainment and memes. If you've ever heard a Warframe player say; "Look, brothers! Tits! HAHAHAHA!" - she invented that.

It's also a running gag that it's not entirely clear whether the games she play are themselves broken, or that she broke them - check out her "I return to Destiny. To break it." video, for example. I swear, she either has a knack for finding all the most hilarious bugs and glitches, or emits an EMP field of some kind.

So don't take that video too seriously, folks. It's mainly for entertainment.

Well, she doesn't call herself "scum" - though she did, in a round-about way, call herself "bitch" in a recent video. She calls everyone else "scum" - again, for comedic effect.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen a video from her that's even 10 minutes long. She's mute, and her text-to-speech charges per character.

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is my GOTY so far. I enjoyed Days Gone and surprisingly it's in the same class of games with RE2 and Control for me.Depending on how I'm feeling in the moment , any of those 3 could feel like my favorite.

Kingdom Heart 3 is my GOTY. I know the majority of people will disagree with me but I don't care. Scores, GOTY awards, etc are all just other people's opinions, man. If Days Gone is your GOTY that's cool but other people's opinions may vary. I'm aware that a lot of people are saying that Days Gone deserved better than a 5 though. It's probably a pretty solid title.

@ajstyles: Okay, I can't take you seriously anymore. You just called Sekiro and Astral Chain trash. Those games were both extremely well received and came from highly respected developers. I'm pretty sure you haven't played either one smh

i've got it arriving today after seeing it in a sale. bought it because i like stealth gameplay and there seems to be enough sneaky sneaky in it to gloss over some of its shortcomings. plus ive barely bought anything for the playstation this year. thought i better give it some love

From what I played, it was good. But I don't know if it deserves GOTY status.

i've played several hours now and it's been quite a pleasant surprise. far more polished and nuanced than i expected. already prefer it to spiderman and any open world ubisoft game. low expectations ftw

Dorito man Jeoff will not let Resident Evil 2 win. He will give it to A Hideo Kojima Game, even if it is boring like MGSV.

He doesn't pick the nominations or winners , and MGS V didn't win GOTY. Last year for example , there was a voting jury made up of 69 worldwide gaming outlets that voted on nominees (and then winners from the top nominees) . The jury had 90% vote weighting , and the remaining 10% weight was from fan voting.

Days Gone is an average game that got the attention it deserved.

Sekiro is another terrible dark souls clone so I know it’s trash. Those games are broken.

I just googled it. Almost right. It’s another platinum games hack and slash. Who freaking cares? All of platinums games are the same. Everything from transformers devastation to MGS Revengence to bayonetta and astral chain. Beat em up/hack and slash’s should never win GOTY.

I know it's completely unnecessary to talk to you, since you're just a very obnoxious fanboy, but Sekiro is quite different from the Souls games. And Astral Chain is quite different to PG's other games. But you already dismissed them without knowing what they were, like a true moron. Or troll. Hope you're a troll..

Playing through Days Gone currently (finally). It's a very good game. I wouldn't say it's GOTY by any stretch, but it's much, much better than most of the reviews suggest. I hope there's a sequel to this game. It deserves one.

I couldn't even bring myself to finish Days Gone :(. It wasn't very good at all IMO. I think the GOTY options out there are Sekiro, Gears 5 and Death Stranding. I imagine the new Star Wars might be a shoe in as well.

im struggling to think of a game that flatlines from the off like days gone does.

games peak and trough with significant events which push the game forward and hold your interest, but in all my time doing missions in days gone, nothing interesting happened. literally nothing. uneventful mission after mission. no peaks, just one big f*ckin trough.

the only remotely interesting thing is when you occasionally stumble upon a horde. but it's more by chance than purposeful design. the zombies on their own aren't scary, but when there's several hundred of them chasing you down that's a different story. it can be pretty exhilarating but you can't enjoy the tension much because you can't move the camera to look behind you as you're escaping on your bike; it snaps back to the front immediately. so you don't really know how close they are, or how many there are. it's a real wasted opportunity to provide scares via sheer volume of enemies, something i can't recall being done in any other game on this kind of scale.

it's all a shame because the game's mechanics themselves are decent enough, it's just the world and mission structure you get to execute them in is just dull. it's not necessarily bad, just completely unremarkable. i'd give it about a 6.5/10. i'd still take it over any ubisoft open world game though
