I think people were hoping for a Walking Dead game :PThat would've been nice. It's kind of boring that developers only ever really seem to be interested in exploring the wacky, gory action. Oh well, there's always Dead State. At some point.

You're not supposed to be able to see that (debug build), but I'm glad you are as it's hilarious. When making a first person game you don't bother animating or polishing what the player won't see anyway.

It's a first person game. Why would they spend time trying to polish and animation you'll never see? That's just somebody playing around with a debug menu is all.

Not on Gamespot. Anything lower than 5 isn't worth playing (making 7 "less than mediocre"). It should be, anything that gets a 5 is worth playing, just only to people who are fans of the genre and can get it cheap. IGN is even worse... their cut off seems set at 7.

From what I've read about the game, the AI is pretty smart and the game actually take a lot of strategy and skill if you want to survive. In fact, it seems to be one of the most common praises. This game is apparently rare in how it makes you feel like you are actually trying to survive a zombie apocalypse.
I was expecting about a 7.5 here, so no surprise on my end. I am aware of the flaws, but still think it is going to be a gem that I will get a lot of replay value out of. At the end of the day, all I care about is if I am having fun or not and this game looks like it will provide that for me. I went ahead and ordered me a copy.
A good summary of the review is that it has flaws, but they are minor for the most part and in no way do they hinder the fun you will have with the game. If you go in knowing what to expect, then you will have a great time. Just don't expect some deep plot or interesting characters. It is simply a zombie sandbox with RPG elements. A flawed gem that is made for pure fun and provides a lot of bang for your buck.
Once again, only gamers prove strange enough to call something with a 7.0 score terrible, even when it clearly says, "good."
smh. It's no wonder IGN has to use the 8-10 scale to get you folks to play anything.

No doubt. The review plainly states that it is a good game, that provides a lot of bang for your buck. Just don't go in expecting some technical marvel, a deep plot or interesting characters. It is a sandbox zombie game with RPG elements that is meant to be just plain old fun. The reception has been more positive than negative, that's for sure.
