Details: - Raidou returns, a character from the original Saturn release
- "The Deep Mountains" stage has gates that can fall on the fighters and cause damage
- development is 20% complete
- Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate confirmed
- stages in a mountain area and Kyoto revealed thus far
- special features of the series will remain intact
- "players that have moved away from 3D fighting games will be able to enjoy themselves"
- developed by Team Ninja
- production and direction from Yousuke Hayashi
- no release date yet

Edit* It looks like a fighting game but it might not be the combat could be fighting game combat but it could still be an action/adventure game or whatever.

Street Fighter (Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, Street Fighter Alpha 2)

Mortal Kombat (MKII, MKIII, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon)

Capcom vs (Tatsunoko vs Capcom)

Soul Calibur (Soul Blade and SCII if we're just counting fighting games)

Tekken (Tekken 3 on PlayStation, Tekken 4 at an arcade and Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection at a movie theater arcade when I went to see Prince of Persia)

Bloody Roar (Just played Primal Fury on Gamecube, which is also Extreme on XBOX)

All three Super Smash Bros games (I think Brawl is the best one)

And a lot of anime fighters (DBZ, Naruto, and Zatch Bell specifically), but I never played a DOA.

IMO it's an improvement. The last DOA game (XBV2 / Paradise) was downright juvinile in its depiction of the female breast. Now that Itagaki is gone maybe there's hope for this franchise.

Ocarina of Time remake? Dead or Alive? High chance of a Majoras Mask remake? Looks like my GBA SP will finally get replaced.

And i agree TC, it looks like an action game, probably the long announced Code Chronus. Although there was another action game under works 'Project P' which was going to star Ayane and Kasumi as 13yr olds. Could be a mix of both projects.

▲ If those were new zelda and star fox games I'd be inlcined to buy the 3DS. But In general I'm not a fan of the type of games nintendo releases. And even less of a fan of their systems. I already beat MGS3 on my ps2 anyways. Only game on that list that looks mildly interesting is Kid Icarus. ▲

Haven't really played any of the DOA, but the graphics looks great.

Definitely looks like a fighting game more than anything else.

3ds looks to be the golden age of hand held gaming . Finaly a hand held with decent power so we can get real games.
