Deadspace: Most overrated game this gen hand's down.

The graphics were decent, the gameplay was kinda cool but nothing innovating... i thaught the zero gravity sounded cool..super lame, the story was ok but not deep at all. The only thing that i enjoyed the most about the game was the sound. As far as everything eles...i feel like i can compare this game to assisins creed.

How did this game manage to get the same reviews to Fallout 3, Gears 2, Resistance 2?

As far as the Re5 argument goes...can't even compare. Re5 owns deadspace in everyway and even has Co-op this tome around. Stop and shoot ftw! For those who say Re5 is Re4 with better graphics...Do i have to really remind you what re4 did for last generation as well as this one. Re4 was a next gen game on a past gen consol.

It's a great game, but yes it is overrated.

There's not much replay value. Once you finish the campaign, you've practically seen and done everything and it's not much fun doing the missions again since most of them were repetitive.

That's why Dead Space is a solid rent only.

Oh wait, the TC didn't even finish Deadspace. He beat chapter 3 and stopped. LMFAO. He didn't experience half of the weapons or enemies. THIS IS EPIC FAILCloud_Insurance

Not even close the most overrated game this gen still belongs to GTAIV now that game was just flat out boring.

I don't know about glitches but I'm pretty sure you can get irrevocably stuck at certain points early on. I, for instance, had to restart from a previous save file in the first chapter because I was stuck behind a rapidly opening/closing door with an empty stasis module and no way to refill it. That's why I make it a habit when playing linear games to save as often as I can and cycle through the save files as I do so. That way I never have to lose too much progress to correct a mistake, grab something I missed, try a more ammo-efficient strategy, etc.creepy_mike

Sorry you did not enjoy the game. I had a ton of fun with it, while it lasted. Replay was very low IMO, the graphics are definately above average and the atmosphere created by the game is second only to the original Condemned.

As far as coop goes, it is a survival horror game...coop would kill this! The whole thing was based on startling scares and lighting. If you had some other dude lumbering along behind you that could save/revive you then it would not have been as immersive. Take the movie Alien for a moment, how much less suspenseful/scary would the end have been if Ripley had been with another person? IMO not nearly as much.

My thoughts on RE5...played RE4 enjoyed the game, hated the control setup on the PS2. RE5 is pretty much the same game (from what I have seen so far) with bricked controls (for a shooter) and coop that actually takes away from the survival horror aspect. I will pick this game up on the cheap later just to play the story.

Go play Farcry 2...now that is disappointing...and overrated.jg4xchamp

The game did everything it wanted to do perfectly,the controls were smooth, gameplay was original and intense, sound was magnificent, graphics were awesome, story was interesting, atmosphere was well-executed.

Dead space is a great game and deserves any credit it gets. It should have sold more but its a solid single player game.
It has clearly outdone resident evil 4 and even putting resident evil 5 up for the test.
Face it, dead space takes what re4 has done and produced better taking elements from movies.

Fans of resident evil 4 are not convinced obviously.

It may not do anything original or innovative, but Dead Space takes a blend of many other good-great games and combines them in a way that works. The game could have just as easily borrowed from other games and sucked. Instead, they made an entirely new game that people hadn't played before despite the obvious borrowing from other games.

DS was a great game and yes, it deserved the reviews it got. Your supposed arguements against the game could just as easily be used (and HAVE been used) against those other games you list.

I disagree, i find the game deserves it's 9 rating. Atmosphere is amazing, sound is incredible, graphics are pretty phenominal as well, and gameplay is superb. The sales do not justify how awesome this game is, deserves as much as gears 2, but its a new IP and didn't have much hype.

I loved RE4, and i thought the RE5 demo was alright. Graphics were great, but it seems they are going for a action game, so i do not see why the controls for aiming are iffy and you can not shoot while you run. In RE4 they had some atmosphere, but in this one it seems they through it away. Maybe in the level where you are in the mansion theres some atmosphere of creepiness or something.

Yeah, DeadSpace it a bit overrated considering it has no multiplayer but still a great game. The most overrated imo is Burnout Paradise. It has the worst gameplay in a racing game i ever tryed. The only think you have to do is press the accelerating trigger :? I just dont get how can it be AAA and other great arcade racing games like the PGR series be AA...

I feel the same. On the other hand AAA graphics + A gameplay = AA game. Maybe it deserved its score :P

As soon as I hear someone complain about something not being innovative as a reason for it not being good, I stop taking them seriously.

Dead Space wasn't innovative at all, It didn't have to be. But it was a solid game with some really cool stuff in it. Sorry you didn't like it.
