Here's how it works: GameStop has rolled out a new offer through which you can get a new Xbox One for just $100. The store will pay you $250 in credit toward the purchase of a new Xbox One when you trade in a qualifying PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. This deal is good through November 15; read on for more specifics.

This offer runs alongside GameStop's existing deal where you can get a free Xbox One controller with the purchase of any new Xbox One through November 8.

No, I love my PS4.

I will eventually get an Xbox One, make no mistake, but not by trading in any of my already owned systems.

Thinking about trading in my One for the Elite bundle using this deal...I would get an Elite console and the Elite controller for $250

I already have them both, so no. But I do prefer my Xbox One. It's simply doing more for me.

To do that i put my PS4 on the ads ask for a 1 to 1 rade for an xbox one and probably get a free game without spending a cent.

I'm not one to give away consoles, so I'll be keeping the PS4. I'd like to pick up an XBoxOne at some point, but I'll need to wait for a deal that doesn't, well, suck. =(

I don't know who would buy a used Xbox One for over $250 with nothing else included when there will be so many great deals and bundles upcoming for $350 or less in some cases ( Black Friday etc ). Not to mention this trade in comes with another free controller on top.

No deal. Halo is bland , Forza is boring. The only thing interesting about the bone is that silly Insomniac game. No way I'm giving up PS4 games for that game , lol. Come on Gameflop.

Hmmm a new console with a fresh warranty, an extra controller, and a game for $100? Could be tempting. Basically if you think of the game value as $60 and the controller value as $60 it's not a bad deal for people with consoles with expired warranties.

Yeah right. just wait till Gamestop makes a deal trade your PS4 for NX and were gonna see if you're gonna trade your waste of PS4 space for NX.

The issue with me trading my PS4 for an Xbone is that I would just be trading one set of problems in towards the same set of problems, only worse. Two systems that are made nearly irrelevant by gaming PCs, but the Xbone has even less exclusives and weaker hardware... so that's a no go.

Now the NX? Yeah, it will probably get a decent amount of worth while exclusives. Thing is, how long will it take for that to happen? I don't expect the NX to be worthwhile for at least a year, maybe two.

Honestly, it's not a great deal, but not too bad either if someone wants to switch things up for awhile. If my Gamestop still had any Forza 6 consoles, I might have traded my PS4 for one of those with the free controller deal. Then pick up the Black Ops III PS4. But alas, they are all out of Forza 6 consoles. It's obviously not worth it for a "standard" XB1 IMO, but when you are throwing in a game and controller it's not bad.

I already own both. I still wouldn't trade a PS4 for a $100 Xbox One. I wouldn't even trade a PS4 for a free Xbox One with games.

Just because you "trade-in" a console, doesn't' mean you can't buy it again. I did that a couple of times last gen to get special edition PS3's or 360's or different game bundles - or to get the revised hardware (i.e. go from fat PS3 to slim PS3, or from slim 360 to 360 E). Seems like it's not a bad time to make such a trade, considering they are throwing in an extra game and controller. You basically only pay $50 trade-in if you deduct the cost of the controller. Plus you get a brand new console, with new warranty, etc.

I can't personally justify doing it, since i've barely spenty any time with my PS4 and my PS4 is way less than a year old. But like I said, if they still had any Forza bundles I might have thought about that one.

@GameSpot: Considering the PS4 has 300+ more games at retail an digital, more exclusives, and the library divide is growing, I don't see why this is a good deal, unless you really want specific exclusives.

Considering both machines are $350 at retail, I think if someone wanted to swap consoles, the could do MUCH, MUCH better that this deal. That means they are only getting $250 for their PS4. Nah. It wouldn't be a great deal. I wouldn't even trade a console in, but if I were, I don't think even an even-Steven swap (one used Xbone for one used PS4) would be a good deal considering what I know about the market and games.

I own both machines and to be honest, neither are remarkable yet.

Also, Gamestop execs do specific deals with game console "partners", so it wouldn't surprise me if this deal was set up by Xbox execs and Gamestop execs to drum up business. Most of us are aware M$ was combining Xbone/360 numbers for various quarters and now in a more recent move, M$ have refused to release console Xbone sales numbers at all. It was very unprecedented. We also know the sales divide between the two machines has been growing, it's not hard to imagine working out deals with retailers during the busy holiday season would be the smart thing to do.

In the end, Gamestop are a business (that partner up with companies) and if a company approaches them with money, they will do that deal for a set period of time. EB games used to have a program called "partner of the month" and when Gamestop bought them out, that was one of the things that stayed with the company because it's a good avenue for revenue. The company agrees to promote a certain machine/company for a set period of time and the unknowing customers for that time period will be directed to that machine/games via trades, etc. It was actually more devious in the EB days because I would hear the guys one month telling me to buy an Xbox in the PS2 days and then a month later those same guys telling me to buy a PS2 the next month. I always found that practice pretty hilarious.

Is this question really a way to advertise the deal? What are we supposed to discuss, that Gamestop at this time is partnering up with Xbone and possibly the next period Sony may partner with them? Then after that, maybe EA? That's business.

The real good KICK ASS deals are still coming later this month for the holiday season. This is just a trap to lure in the suckers that can't wait. Not really a good trap tbh.

Well, there are two aspects to this:

• I use my existing machines (PS Vita, PS4, 3DS, Wii U) way too much to want to trade any of them in
• I am a sentimental fool, and I'm attached to all of them far too much to want to trade any of them away

Absolutely not. I currently prefer the Xbox One to the PS4, and I love mine, but I would never trade in one current gen system for another, unless it were an upgrade(Ie the 3DS for the New 3DS XL)

I've taken part in a Gamestop deal like this in the past. I traded in a spare 360 I wasn't using and walked away with the O.G. 3DS XL when it launched. I only did it because I was trading something I wasn't using in for something I really wanted.

I currently have 2 PS4's but only 1 Xbox One. Would I consider trading in a spare PS4 for $250 towards another purchase? Possibly. Would I do it specifically for the Xbox One? Probably not. Not unless it was like a limited special edition console or something. But it doesn't make sense to trade in a box that I paid $399 for 2 years ago and then give Gamespot $100 more for a new $349 box.

That's a terrible deal. No sane person would pay $100 to downgrade their experience.
