Sony and Kojima Productions are planning a Death Stranding 2 blowout this weekend, as with an SXSW livestream set for Sunday, reliable Dealabs leaker Billbil-Kun has hinted at what details we should expect from the show. They say the announcement of the PS5 game's release date and pre-order information are imminent, and will almost certainly be revealed during the SXSW panel.

Drilling into the few details Billbil-Kun reveals, they claim the release date reveal is right around the corner, and pre-orders will also go live this month, for both physical and digital versions. They state the Collector's Edition will cost $230, but its contents are currently unknown. Meanwhile, the base game will be the usual $70 release.

All eyes, therefore, are on the Death Stranding 2 SXSW panel taking place this Sunday. You'll be able to watch the livestream here on Push Square, and we'll be reporting all the news and updates as they happen. The show itself gets underway at 10pm GMT / 2pm PST / 5pm EST. According to Billbill-kun, publisher PlayStation is planning to open Death Stranding 2 pre-orders this month, with multiple physical editions planned, including a $70/£70 Standard Edition, and a $230 Collector’s Edition.

The contents of the Collector’s Edition are unknown, but it will be available in both Europe and North America, according to Billbil-kun.

The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach SXSW 2025 panel will be streamed live from 4pm CDT / 9pm GMT on Sunday, featuring director Hideo Kojima, and cast members Norman Reedus and Troy Baker.

June 26th isn't that far off. I'm shocked this is coming out sooner than I thought.

Will watch the trailer tomorrow. OG DS was a bit of a mind-**** (Kojima, duh), but was pretty tedious in terms of exploration early game. Hell even mid-late game could be a chore because vehicles oft had issues traversing terrain due to fucking rocks. That being said, will probably do another run to remind myself of the story.

I love the trailer! Already looking like it is a potential GoTY for me I cannot wait! Been looking into physical editions the past few mins but seems other than collector edition, its not up yet. Definitely pre ordering if deluxe or normal edition has a steelbook.

Hopefully my favorite Band "Bring me the Horizon" will do another music video out of Death Stranding as I really enjoy "Luden" from those guys. Luden 2 please🤞🏼

DS1 came out on PS4 back in November 2019 and the PC version came out in July 2020. (Funny enough, EGS gave it away for free in November 2020) So that's likely going to be 8 months to wait. The Director's Cut came out on PS5 in September 2021 and then the PC Director's Cut version came out in March 2022. That is 6 months to wait for. I'm just speculating, DS2 on PC in December 2025 then?

I liked the first DS when I picked it up for PS4 but at that time, I didn't think it would come to PC. I need an excuse to turn on my PS5, so I'll just settle for that, and this time around, I'll wait for the Director's Cut for PC.

Death Stranding on Xbox did better than PS, according to Digital Foundry. And this isn't a Sony game, it's a Kojima game. I will be getting this for Xbox just like the first one.

@gifford38: The Decima engine seems better than the Unreal Engine 5 engine. The framerate for Unreal Engine 5 can be terrible while the Decima engine runs at a great framerate and the graphics look great at the same time for open world games.

This game and Ghost of Yotei, looking like a great year for PS5!!
