December 12th. The Hidden Message in MGS4

I'm hoping good news.

It just seems to me that hackers would have found this video by now if this video really existed.  It would have been all over youtube and such.

But, I'm no professional on that.

Snake dies in 6 months due to the Foxdie in his body. June 12 is when MGS4 was released. 6 months after that is December 12, and there is a rumor that something will happen on that day, such as a secret cutscene/announcement will be unlocked in MGS4.

Basically, 6 months after the game was released an additional scene is suppose to be revealed in it.

Sounds cool, but they should have done a patch for trophies or DLC instead...

Well, it IS Kojima. You never know. 

This rumor got started in a topic on the Gfaqs message boards shortly after the game released. There is no significant sign that its even remotely a chance, just a rumor started by us MGS4 board vets that got way out of control. So dont hold your breath. I would be amazed if it happened.

Also Kojimas team is just now about to get back from their post development vacation, so I wouldnt count on a MGS5 announcement being on the disc already just waiting to be unlocked.

Kojima currently has 3 ideas for what he wants to do with MGS5, but he doesnt really want to use them because then he would have to be more hands on with the series and hes absolutely sick of it. MGS2 is the last MGS he wanted to make and thats why the story progressively got worse going from MGS3 into MGS:PO and hit an ultimate low with MGS4. Even before MGS4 released he told Famitsu that his biggest worry is that his hardcore fans would enjoy the game and that he would be forced into MGS5.

Basically he doesnt want to use his ideas, but he wants his team to propose their own ideas when they get back. Hopefully Murata will take over as lead director and Shinkawa will stay as art director while co writing/directing at the same time. Kojima really hates MGS and its starting to show in his work. Let the man make new games.

I agree with both of you, it seems stupid to think something would happen, but at the same time I'm hoping for a patch for trophies and such...

from what i've heard, the disc is synced with Konami's servers and there must be some sort of hidden partition on the blu-ray disk holding the video. I guess you could view it in the briefing menu.

Or you guys could just read this guys post instead of ignoring it and trying to decipher an overblown rumor. :P

I remember the topic this rumor got started in. If there does end up being a final cutscene released on Dec. 12, it will only happen because this rumor has gotten so big and in that case it would be something available for DL via PSN, not some imbeded super secret file on the disc. :lol:

I don't think there is a new cutscene related to the rumor about what happens to Snake after 6 months or any other update, the reason I'm saying that is because Konami denied any expansion is planned for MGS4. The only expansion is for MGO.
