I'm not sure if people are just acting dumb or they are truly surprise that a 3 month old exclusive game didn't chart 3 months after. Halo 5 came out only a few days in October and it was number 1. Drake Collection also came out in October but barely made the top 10 as it fell at the 9th place. A month after, Halo 5 remained in the top 10 while Drake fell off the face of the earth and was never seen since. Then huge multiplats like CoD, Fallout and Star Wars came and took space out of the top 10 spots. The top 10 are basically multiplats, not sure if people celebrating that no exclusive was on there a good thing or bad thing. Microsoft release an exclusive and it took the number 1 spot in only a few days. I don't even think the PS4 release an exclusive that took the number 1 spot in NPD yet, I don't know. Not even Bloodborne took the number 1 spot as it fell short to 2nd place.

Congrats to the PS4 for slightly edging it out once again but Sony should not take that too lightly yet. They really need to release an exclusive that will debut at the number 1 spot and stay there for at least a couple of months. I mean Microsoft already did this, why can't Sony do it too. Their fans seems to focus on the competitors exclusive making the top 10 or not, so they really need to have exclusive to hit the top 1 so their fans could be proud of. I mean when was the last time the PS4 exclusive debut at the number 1 spot? Also when was the last time the PS3 version of games took the top spot? The 360 version of games continue to lead over the PS3. That's been happening for years now too. Anyway, NPD shows once again sports and shooter games are the big sellers. Not sure if that's good or bad though. Also how does one get into Neogaf? That place seems to be hella fun to participate in. It reminds me of the old SW. I mean almost everyone here just post shit from there.

Star Wars sold a lot better on PS4 lol. NPD doesn't count bundles you clown. Halo flopped out of the charts in December, it did poorly. Sony utterly destroyed MS in software and hardware. This is what the top 10 for the year looks like if you include bundles.

I think this is the most telling part. After all that bullshit PR spin of Halo making $500 million, the sad reality that this was probably a lie is starting to hit lems. There's no way the game made $500 million in sales if it can't make it into the yearly charts. It didn't even make it into December, WTF? Getting outsold by minecraft and FIFA (lol). Halo 5 is an utter flop.

No other Halo other than the first one ever finished lower than 3rd in the NPD top 10 best sellers for the year. This really is an unprecedented decline for a franchise.

Seems to make sense that Halo 5 didn't chart December. For one, it's an exclusive on the console with presumably half the sales of the leading competition. But most importantly, every game that did that chart were also games in well established franchises on multiple platforms. The lackluster nature of halo 5s campaign didn't help it live up to the hype either. But when it first came out, it certainly dominated October and still charting in November.
