Declining 360 Sales in Japan: Is it Dying Out Over There?

I recently went over to Destructoid's website, where I found a link that talks about how the 360 is declining greatly in sales, where many retailers may be phasing out the console, with the PS3 slowly climbing up. Also, it mentioned how the Kinect did not outsell the PS Move controller. Just thought that I'd share it with you guys.

What do you think will happen with Microsoft's plans for Japan and Asia with its upcoming console? Does it stand a chance against Sony & Nintendo?

Yeah, 360 didn't do well from the start in Japan.

yeah i think the country is definitely biased, if i was MS i would pull out. They are ungrateful to the 360.

i do believe that, its ok for them to be biased, but why shouldnt we think differently? MS has tried to cater to the japanese market but I dont think they like an american console. Its all good, just pull out and call it a day.

They never did well in Japan.

Microsoft has sold 1.5 million in Japan. While it's not a lot compared to the other consoles, there's still a market for it. I don't think Microsoft will ever give up pushing in Japan regardless of the less than stellar sales.

Ehh...maybe.

Japan = Obsessed with surrealism

America = Obsessed with realism

It all depends on your preference..

I prefer fantastical games to gritty realistic ones, so I prefer Japanese games.

But that's just me.

It makes sense since games cater to Japanese niche market like Idol master/ dream club are going to ps3/vita, and the interactive novels are usually butchered versions from pc like the ps2 ones...

As others have said, dying out would indicate it was alive at some point. It never has been.

It's been dead in Japan the only games that sold well on it where Blue Dragon and Tales of Vesperia.

The market in Japan isn't even that big. They should stop wasting their money on pushing a product towards such xenophobic population and start focusing on the US more.percech
