The gaming Industry was around before the Wii, i think it would have lasted without out it.

Raving Rabbids, Wario Ware, Wii Play, Wii Fit, Boogie, Etc... Yes, it does.
Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4, SMG, SSBB, Fire Emblem, No More Heroes, King Story, Trauma Center, etc are all gimmicky gameplay? They are all party games? Me Thinks not. The wii has its fair share of 'hardcore' games.

ok Take out.. RE4(on GC and is a port), SSBB(GC controls standard), FE(Doesn't even use Wii controls might as well be GC game). So most of the hardcore games are not even showing off the wii mote? lol. What is the point.

I knew this thread was going to turn into people stating opinion as fact.
As far as people ranting that Wii is a casual system that too many non-gamers play, that's kinda true. But Nintendo is also trying for games to still cater to their gamers that they've had through the past years. Why else greenlight a new Zelda, Metroid and Mario platformer (remember, I said platformer, not spinoff; no matter how many Mario games there are, some people still see excitement in the main games)? Plus, they're trying to expand the market with a few casual games (c'mon, the system isn't entirely made of them). And it seems to be working some.
Another note: Many people play Halo, and that's a common fact. Well, what makes up a few of these customers? Casuals. I've seen Halo played at my church, and even non-gamers (and girls :o) would join in. The multiplayer's fun enough for many people to play, and that's exactly what Nintendo seems to be doing. And before we forget the kiddy argument, I think we know that plenty of children play Halo as well, and that might not change with the new game coming out tomorrow.
And before someone points out "sheep," I have a 360 and play it. In fact, my favorite thing about the Wii is the Virtual Console (that's about the 4th time I've said that). With games made before Nintendo "went casual."

I hate the wii. But i don't hate Nintendo.
You forgot to refute the "not many of its gamea re fun" argument. Oh wait....that might be difficult.XanaduTheBandFirst of all, opinion.
Second, according to the almighty GS, A scored games = good games.

A fad is when public interest dies off in a product that's still kicking. Public interest in consoles dies off when they're left for dead. So consoles in general aren't fads. Calling any console a fad before its interest from the public has died off is nothing but pure speculation. Anyone who calls it a fact is very misinformed.
