Thank you, sir. Finally some got it what I was trying to say. From the last whole year I have been trying wrap my hand around high poly 3d modeling to retopologizing meshes for game models. At first glance I could notice the change in resolution of the model. At close inspection it isn't hard to notice the areas.

Minecraft sold millions on the Xbox 360, if you have an XB1, the upgrade from the 360 version costs about £3.00 (digitally) so if you are basing your figures on retail sales (its not at retail on XB1 yet genius), you are doing it wrong.

Ahh, that makes sense then. When you work with mesh regularly, things like that are easy to spot. On that same note, most people inexperienced with modeling would think a downgraded cuff means very little. The problem is though, that the amount of geo that makes up the cuff likely makes its way up the whole arm since it would make no sense to terminate your edge loops into tris right there at the end. Meaning that it's much more than a downgraded cuff and very telling about the manual optimization on the rest of the model.
I can't model high res characters for shit. Programs like Zbrush and Mudbox can go suck a dick, I'm just not a sculptor. I do have a pretty solid understanding of creating clean poly meshes though. I can model low and high poly models pretty well, but mainly hard surface stuff.
On occasion though, I do have to retopo high res character sculpts and scan data for games and animation.
Not sure how far along you are, (you may already know all this) but retopo can be an absolute pain in the ass depending on the software you're using. I started off trying to do it in 3D Studio Max... retopo in Max is probably going to be someones version of hell, it's awful. Then I tried Zbrush with Zsphere retopo. Not as bad as Max, but still terrible. From there I moved onto Topogun. It's very glitchy, but the tools are great. I actually started to enjoy retopo in that program. 3D Coat has a very similar tool set. But then I finally found the heaven that is Modo. Best set of modeling and retopo tools I've ever seen. Heavily endorsed by some of the Pixar modelers, so you know it's good. 3D modeling isn't even my main job, but I enjoyed Modo so much that I bought a personal license.
And whoa, I just realized how long this post is getting.
One more thing, what program do you bake your high to low res in? I use Xnormal. It's free, it's easy to use and it's awesome. I actually learned about that one here on SW oddly enough, this place isn't totally useless. But yeah, you can bake color, normals, AO, and all kinds of other maps in one sweep. It also installs a nice Photoshop filter that allows you to convert height maps to normals quickly which is really nice for creating hard surface paneling among other things.

Same here only hard surface stuff. I can't scult a character model either.. And I really hate retopolizing meshes. Hwe I first started doing 3D modelling and I completed my first project I was like cool It takes time but I can model things. I modeled a very high res model of a chopper, then I look its next part for the game model and I was like, **** me.....it's like 3 times more work. I need to start again. By the way, I don't really have too much experience in different 3d programs, just 3ds Max and ZBrush as I things for my own game projects and still new to the field of modeling.
Yes, even I use Xnormal for baking stuff. But recently I just came across a tool Called Substance Designer. It's really awesome. Haven't explored it completely but so far I found it superb. It has a photoshop like non detructible workflow and node based compositing tool. Only thing is it's paid. I'm exploring it using a trial version for now. But that tool is really tempting.

Yeah man, low poly hard surface can be a real pain in the ass. I actually prefer the high poly workflow, especially when working with subdivisional surfaces. Sometimes it's just damn hard to capture a hard surface silhouette well in the low res. And then the pain of messing with smoothing groups and whatnot. Sometimes if you're baking down a high res to a low res, you can set a single smoothing group on the entire low res model at 180 degrees and the normal map will take care of the rest... sometimes. But as i'm sure you know, there are always unexpected hiccups.
And yeah, Substance Designer looks awesome! Haven't tried it out for myself, but I know it's gaining a lot of footing in the industry. People seem to love it.
I'm throwing all of my texturing eggs in the Mari basket though. It seems to be the go-to program for making huge texture sets for film and animation. It's a bit overkill for game texturing, but still works all the same.
Not telling you to do anything wrong, but.. most people don't pay for software they're just learning how to use and trial periods usually aren't long enough to learn shit. I'd just find a copy online, learn it, and then pay for a license once you're actually generating income off of it.
