Whoever said BioshockOwnz is racist clearly has no idea what they're talking about.
wonderboy63
Im not saying he is, the way he said that comment back there, made him sound little bit..iv never heard anyway say they dont liek a game bcuz its japanese (althought he has much better reasons im sure)
That's not at all what he said...Regardless, the game does not look that great, it looks like a decent RPG, that is being overhyped beyond belief. Just because it is hardcore(as in difficult...) and unique does not instantly make it the best RPG ever made, plenty of RPG's are like that, and some have become great, and some have failed.
There are much better titles to be hyping at this level, this is definitely wasted effort.... Should there be a hype count on this game? l sure hope it's not as high as some are projecting.

No. The world and atmosphere is a downer. It's so boring. I get a migraine if I play it for more than an hour.
BioShockOwnz
obviosly you havent played many midevil style rpgs have you, most fo them looks like these.
This game has that Japanese touch like KuF: CoD had. It's just depressing and a grind to play.
I actually don't think he's played it tbh. You don't EVER have to grind if you don't want to.
Japanese is not a race so you fail!SparkyProtocolracist can mean more of a race, like being racist to a columbian , not bcuz hes hispanic , but bcuz hes culumbian (just as an example), you are so ignorant
i have tihs game and damn! it's awesome as hell! i'm trying to finish it this whole summer since i'll be a 3rd year at the university come this fall. you haveto adjust your gameplay, since i played it right after i played infamous lmao. if you think you can jsut run around and kill everyone in your path then you're ocmpletely wrong. the online is pretty cool and a first in console rpg's. basically, there's a co-op feature in the game, but here' the catch: a player can also join you in your world when you're onlnie, and basically plan ahead of time and kill you and take all your souls. the first time i looked like a jerk always in defensive pose walknig around lmao. but yea, it's pretty neat. also, if you're already so advanced in this game, you can leave tracks/hints for other players when they reach that map i.e. be careful of teh boulder or something like that. the boss fights are awesome.
this is, dare i say it, much much better than oblivion and fallout 3 combined.
@wonderboy i boguht the KOrean version of the game for $70 canadian dollars (that's like $60 US dollars). the manual is in korean, and so are your trophies lmao. but the voices are in english, subtitles as well as menus.

were did u buy it?
alot of people have already imported the game. i bought it from kijiji (you can try craigslist as well). ut only buy from people who are in your city so you can just meet up with them and check if the bluray's fine or scratched or whatnot. you can also buy from play-asia, i don't know if i'm allowed to link it but just google it.
play-asia.com/ so i get imported games that already came otu in asia/japan, this looks sweet, but ill they come in englishalot of people have already imported the game. i bought it from kijiji (you can try craigslist as well). ut only buy from people who are in your city so you can just meet up with them and check if the bluray's fine or scratched or whatnot. you can also buy from play-asia, i don't know if i'm allowed to link it but just google it.

and also, based on your online choices/actions, that will change your offline world. so there's a white and black tendency. on white tendency, enemies don't tend to be aggressive but they give less exp. black tendency eneies are aggressive and they give more exp. can't spoil too much lmao.

i know that the korean ersion of the game is in english. there are 3 versions currently out. chinese, korean and japanese. i think chinese and korean versions have english voices, subtutiles and menus. im not quite sure about the chinese version though, but korean yes. just pop it in and play.
but trophies are not in english. so yea, you can jsut go online to check on how to get each trophy, since the description isn't in english.
if so i think i can wait for it, i would really like it if they had ac2, anyone know when it comes out in south korea?
i have fun playing online since it's not region-locked. so i play on asian servers. and the best part about joining an online asian match (like killzone 2) is that no 12 year olds screaming on the mic.

lol, i see (some) kids can be really annoying, and btw, 13 year olds are not allowed in gamespot right?
Demon's Souls is a great game. Better than all console rpgs is a matter of opinion, but it's definitely a great hardcore title. It plays like a WRPG. In Demon's Souls you can't be reckless or you find yourself dead fast and often. I think RPGFan's review really sums it up well "You are not a 1st class member of SOLDIER or a genetically engineered super soldier who can destroy tanks with hand grenades: You are just a guy with a sword and some armor. Others guys with swords and armor can kill you in one hit if you're slow". Any enemy can take you out if your reckless making every encounter important and you don't respawn where you die. You have to start where you entered the world and all the enemies respawn.
not to mention it will be harder than all console rpgsfunsohngHarder =/= better. Especially if the difficulty is artificial, and more frustrating than challenging. NG2 was harder than most action games, but it was crap all the same.

yes this is true, its very frustrating once you die you'll go back at the beginning of the stage with no souls.. you have to recover it from your deathpoint, if you die twice bye bye souls..its easily one of my favorite game this gen.

no, it just means you aren't playing smart, you're in a rush, or you're trying to play this like almost all other games. The game is based on your defense. You can have the strongest weapons and swing as hard as you want, but if you don't know how to block/roll/dodge an enemy, you'll be in soul form quite often. You can **** up in super ghouls 'n ghosts but that's because it's extremely cheap. The game is all about timing and it really is your fault when you die, it's not due to faulty game design.

Ooh, so it's like Mount and Blade? That's kinda cool...but are there any character interaction, story paths or choices to make, or is this a straight up action-RPG like, say, Diablo?

I own the Korean version, and everything is in English, including my Trophies. You can check my PSN ID. "GetToDeChoppa"
This is the best game this gen IMO. I've said all kinds of great things about it already so there is no need for me to repeat myself again. I have a user review up on Gamespot.
Demon's Souls is a top notch game, and anyone with an interest in challening, hardcore PRG's needs to check it out, reguardless of their system bias. Yes, it is that good.

I said it's "a grind to play". I didn't say you had to "grind in the game". Completely different. Context, my friend.

a grind to play how? what makes it a grind to play? feel free to post something specific from the game, and not something you may have read in a review.

if i were you i would just stop there. He does have the game. Hes said that he doesnt like the game and thats fine, just leave it there. Theres no need to challenge his opinion.
Anyway regardless of what bioshock says i really cannot wait for this game. Everything ive seen of it looks amazing. I know its not going to appeal to many people but its 100% my kind of game.

what makes you so sure? have you cooped with him in this game at all? he says it's difficult, but if it really was that difficult why has he yet to visit the demon's souls subforum where there's 220 + threads (11 pages) of advice, tips, questions, people posting their PSN ids to co-op and trade and everything else. A forum that he has yet to post in. The concepts are hard to grasp since it's unlike any other game released this gen and the best place to go for help is the demon's souls forum on here. Once you get how weapon stats, character stats, tendencies, and how bosses function, the game becomes a breeze. After a month he still finds it too hardcore and difficult? please.
He's been saying the same thing for the last month or two without any knowledge on the combat in the game, the world/character tendencies, and other fresh concepts that were first introduced by demon's souls such as PvP and leaving other players notes/hints.
I have no problem with people who dislike this game and give their valid opinions about it, however, I doubt he even owns the game with what poor opinions he has given in the past month.

Your right i cant say 100% for sure but im going by his track record, which is very good. And i havent got the game yet but will do when its released internationally.
I could see how a person might not like this type of game.

Yeah I don't get how one person can play 14 games at the same time.
Playing =/= playing at the same time. That'd be kinda impossible to do.
Yeah but you state your opinion like a fact. You see the game as a downer in your eyes and you use various semi amusing metaphors to compare it with. Not once did you state thats how you feel about the game you just simply stated it as some kind of truth.
In your eyes it is the truth because thats how you perceive it but to mine the game looks bloody epic.
So maybe you should consider writing stuff like in my eyes its dull or IMO it looks like my latest roadkill.
Oh and owning so many consoles and games dose not make your judgment some how more accurate or the holy word. I know someone like that and he never gives most of the games he owns the time of day.
For example his apparent hatred of Eternal Sonata, ToEE, Valkyria Chronicals, stems from the fact that he can never dedicate the time required for games like that to .... blossom. Mind you i dunno maybe you manage to play all of your games, for all i know you do not actually own anymore than me.
Your HTML is not well-formed - please rip your hair out and headbutt the screen until you feel better! Grumble....
Bioshock actually has a pretty down to earth opinion about stuff. He jsut seems to buy every game right away, which is maybe his weirdest quality. Why not wait until they hit $10 and get them all then? He is racist though, he hates the japanese and black people. JohnClogbanned dodger.
I'm actually coming around to this title lately. I remember when I first saw it I thought it looked meh, but seeing the way it blends online and single player is just awesome, and I'm shocked that a Japanese developer has been one of, if not the first to come up with something this unique. Looking forward to this later in the year. :)
