It could be. But tbh there hasn't been much competition "in a while". I've heard so little about it, is it more like Diablo or Mass Effect? As far as I am concerned RPGs should always be divided into jRPGs, action-RPGs, MMORPGs and wRPGs because liking one most certainly doesn't mean you'll like the rest.

I've just been playing Suikoden on the DS for the last several hours which is awesome. I've also played TWEWY. Knights in the knightmare and will be getting around too Chrono Cross as son as i've finished Suikoden and TWEWY. No theres been loads of quality RPG's out.

Too Human? :o I didn't expect that. too human was awesome, though. metroid prime 3 and bioshock were not :( No offense but that was joke right? Too Human better than BioShock? BioShock was a striped doen version of System Shock 2 but it is far better than Too Human.

You should buy it to Support From Software. Most of their games go under the radar unless they are named Armored Core. Otogi and Lost Kingdoms 2 were two of the finest games last gen and hardly anyone knew about them. i personally doubt that this game sells well, despite the fact that it will likely be pretty damn good.

From Software doesn't make as 'under the radar' games as Atlus, they're also going through financial trouble.
In the action-rpg genre, it's probably the best since diablo 2. but there hasn't really been too many action-rpgs. I played it from about march as of now, I think it's one of the best this gen, but there's still WAY more promising titles such as ff13, resonance of fate, and white knight chronicles coming out..justto name a few. Awesome game nonetheless and a 10/10 in my book.

The game wasn't originally set to come to North America, and I believe From Software even stated that it wasn't going to. It wasn't until it started selling out on the Import websites that Atlus decided it was a good idea to bring it here. If anyone recalls preordering, I preordered through playasia 2 weeks before the release late feb, and I got an email 3 days before the release stating that there were too many preorders and they didn't predict that they would outsell their quota or w/e. So they gave me 10% off and said I wouldn't get it until late march.
So I cancelled that and got it from ebay because many of the websites were on backorder for quite a few months.

I totally agree and I'm no RPG fan at all. Infact I rarely ever even give an RPG the time of day, but this game is an action RPG and it looks really-really good.

As I said before the game got a good story though its not very deep, it got NPCs and quests and I guarantee DS gameplay wont get boring untill you beat it 3 or 4 times at least with over 100 hours gameplay, I'm more into JRPGs like rales, FF, DQ and wild arms than games like Demon's souls but yet DS was too great after beating it 5 times with 205 hours playtime I can tell its the best RPG for 2009 ( Well this year lacked good JRPGs SO4 was disappointing ).
Goddamnit, the more and more I hear about how good DS is it makes me want to get it so bad. Far too many RPG's coming out this holiday. I mean Alpha Protocol, Borderlands, Dragon Age, and Demon's Souls?
Not to mention The Witcher which I've barely touched.
**** me. And haven't even gotten into the other awesome games coming out.
