Demon's Souls likely to get A - AA on GS.

Kevin VanOrdis writing the review for Demon's Souls as we speak. Now, he seems to me to be a rather... harsh critic when it comes to reviews. This is good, because it means he tells it like it is, and doesn't seem to bite into the hype (or he's just trying to be anti-hype, but more likely it's the former)

So my guess is, he's going to give Demon's Souls a 7.5-8.0. He's going to knock it heavily for its difficulty "mindless tedium ad infinitum, and pointless grind fest" or something along those lines. Now, keep in mind, this is just a guess, and I really do hope I'm wrong. but I just have a feeling, after watching the On The Spot segment with him showing DS, and given his recent history of reviews. it's looking rather bleak here for this otherwise critically acclaimed RPG.

Lets just hope Kevin see's the light :P or at least likes the game as much as other reviewers seemingly have.

I've been expecting an 8 for a long time, but a 7.5 would not shock me. And 8.5 would be mildly surprising. Now if it somehow gets AAA, then I'd be completely shocked. I could really care less though. I'm going to enjoy my Deluxe edition and sniff the hell out of all the goodies and booklets that come with it :lol:

He won't knock it for being hard. He is a ninja gaiden fan for one :? He will knock the game for being punishing. For instance he is pointed out time and time again that while NG 1 was hard, it was always extremely satisfying and rarely entered cheap territory. Where as Ninja Gaiden 2 wasn't hard, it was punishing hard and just cheap. jg4xchamp

Honestly, from what I saw of his reviews it seems as if he tends to rate RPG's a bit higher, than other games but more importantly this game is shaking up JRPGS that have become a bit stagnant these last few years, and you can't act like that isn't true.

I'm sure Kevin V already have put about 50 hours into the game (I believe he said so on the SW forum the other day) and he liked it. He also said the game "will be getting the score it deserves". So I'm confident it'll be getting 9/10.

Putting 50 hours+ into a game that's too hard for one doesn't seem likely.

He gave NGS 2 a 8.5, so there is a decent chance DS could match that or even exceed it.

beat me to it! I was going to say, KVO already expressed his opinion on the game and it seemed like a very positive one. I'm expecting AA-AAA.

IMO I don't care about GS's score anymore. From the player reviews to all the 9/10's from other sites, this is definitely a day one buy.

After watching the latest on the spot im pretty confident vanord is going to give it a high score. He seemed to really like it.

If he has played more than 50 hours then there is a probability that the game doesn't seem so difficult to him anymore but then again it could be 50 hours on the first stage! :P I think he will score it well. If he's used to play the NG games then he is used to frustration and difficulty so that may not weight to much on his review.RedruM_I

on the show "on the spot" he seemed to really like the game. he said its really addictive and he thinks about the game 24/7. he didnt mind the game being tooo hard. i dont know i say 8.5. also he said the game is the most talked about game in the studio. theres something about this game that caught us all off gaurd. lol....i honestly hate rpg games but maybe this title can do it for me

Well in a preview he said the game is difficult and there is a lot of trial and error, but he also said he is enjoying it anyway. I expect an 8.5.

Thats pretty muchhow I was with this game my first couple of playthroughs.

upgrades, better armor, better spells and miracles.. some of the weapon upgrades can take awhile to farm the ingredients to upgrade fully. the most addictive part for me was after kinda having a hard time through the first playthrough figuring out strategies for boss' and regular enemies, my next playthroughs those same areas gave me less an less trouble. It's difficult but when you get good your rewarded and can dominate the sp part anyways, the pvp is another beast altogether.

Anyone who reviews Demon's Souls under 9 is a PS3 hater.
