The number of people doing ti is irrelevent.xYamatox

Then why were you trying to downplay the significance of PC controller support, as if nobody uses anything other than the KB+M?

Yet consoles get bashed to death for not having mouse support...xYamatox

Yet nobody was doing that in this thread. You're the one who brought up this irrelevant "argument." You're not even trying to argue that PC gamers don't have/use controllers. You're brining up other, totally irrelevant subjects to make it seem like you've made a meaningful point.

That's a 360 controller, a 360 Arcade Stick, and a Wiimote+Nunchuk.

Yup, and PS3 owners have access to KB&M support, yet Hermits discredit that all the time. The case is no different here.

And besides UT3,what other games are compatible with it?

oh that's easy.

there's UT3 and

Demon's Souls is perfectly fine the way it is. I can't see how it would benefit from mods and alterations. That's kind of like George Lucas' genius plan to make the original Star Wars "better" by forcing in new age CGI. It just doesn't work like that.

That's pretty narrow-minded. Mods are not strictly alterations to existing content.

It can be completely new and original content, levels, game modes, weapons. Of course they won't always be good, but sometimes things come along that are better than stuff that was originally in the game. I think the assertion that some games are better off without mods is..well, wrong.

So you ignored the Frag X controller I suggested to him? The controller is read by the PS3 as a Duelshock 3 with the mouse acting in place of the Right Analog stick, meaning it can be used for ALL games, weither they have "real" mouse support, or not.

doesn't matter.

it won't give you what a game actually built around a M/KB can. that isn't the case for the huge list of PC games that were built around both.

It's an interesting device, but how many console games even allow you to customize which button performs what action? That seems like a fairly obvious issue, and would throw its viability into question..unless the hardware itself lets you alter button functions.

Maybe I am being narrow-minded but I stick by my opinion. Other than some technical hitches getting fixed (enemies getting stuck to your feet, exploiting bosses) and improved graphics, what else is there to be improved? I think my Star Wars analogy is pretty spot-on in this case.

I believe it comes with a software disk that can change the settings by putting the disk and plugging the device into a computer (waits for sarcastic comment, lol). So yes, the controls can be changed with a laptop/computer someone probably already has lying around the house.

It's not always about improvement to the core game. It can be about creating new experiences rather than simply improving on the old one.

Even if we ARE talking about improving a game..no game is perfect. There's always going to be little things that you can improve upon. The modding community has a knack for finding these things.

That makes sense. I can't remember the last time a console game had anything for control customization beyond the whole "Layout 1, Layout 2" deal..and that would be fairly problematic for something like this.

How can you not see how it would benefit from mods? I've never played the game myself but from seeing videos I can just imagine what kind of levels/new monsters/weapons people could invent to make the game last a LOT longer.

Mods are ALWAYS better for a game, period. However, I think what he's trying to say is that Demon's Souls has more then enough lasting appeal WITHOUT mods, so they really arn't needed to keep the game fun for a long time.

Hypothetically speaking, every game would be better on the PC. That's why you buy consoles - for console exclusives (and to save money).

Local four player coop games are NOT better on pc. There's no way in heck Madden is better on pc.

Remember that you can using any controller you like (Xbox 360 controllers, wii-motes, something else, it's up to you!) and connect your PC to up to 24 monitors and that means there could be up to 24 players (though I don't know too much about grid-iron or whatever it's called). Remember that we are speaking hypothetically here so we assume that Madden is designed to take full advantage of each platforms strengths. Hypothetically speaking, mods on the PC could be godly.

Maybe.

You would have to buy a gamepad though as that game would be awful with K/M.

I would of loved to see a pc version of demon's souls. I personally think it would feel fantastic playing it on a m&kb, both combat and inventory managing, assuming it was properly implemented. And of course along with mods, longer online life, graphics, resolution and a pleasing 60+fps.

While we're on topic, what are the most similar games to demons souls that are on pc?

Ya, ive heard of the gothic series, but unfortunately everytime i hear about it, it is always being refered to how much of a techinical mess all the games are:lol:.

Though i'll still take a look into it, and im sure there are community/official patches that can fix it for the most part.

edit: oh interesting, apparently the 4th entry of the series is coming out in only a couple weeks, ill defintly checking that out too.

Japanese games never come to PC

Ultizer

DMC 4 did, and Capcom did it right...they optimized for 64-bit Windows, plus DX 9 & 10.
