That's an awsome idea.  Why not just scrap a game that is just about finish so that they could move on to work on a game for 2-3 years.  I guess since it's a 360 game it might as well not excist.:|

Anyways Eternal Darkness was one of the best GC games with out a doubt, a sequel would be nice.

[QUOTE="emawk"]Enternal Darkness will be better on the 360 and PS3. They have more to offer to the game than the Wii. ArisShadows

And that is?

Do they know he backstory as like the sheep who owned a GC?

The 360 offers for to the developers more resources to create a better game as oppose to the Wii. Compared to the 360 what does the Wii have? The Wii-mote--that's it. The 360 has the gpu and cpu to create a truely epic experience. It always has the online support if needed. When compared to this, would you say that the Wii-mote (judging from what you've seen) would be the better option?

I don't see it needing that much horsepower for this game's sequel. Online is in no way needed, not at all, and the Wii does have online capabilities but all in all not needed. How do how much the Wiimote can do for this game's series?

cause he's obviously developing the game

I could see that you prefer graphics over gameplay??? Anyway, the Wii is powerful than the xbox, so Eternal Darkness can still have great visuals and the wii-mote can give the game an immersive experience!!! And besides a lot of people thought that Manhunt 2 would be better off on the Ps3 and 360 until they read the Wii preview and say that the Wii version is too realistic and would be known as a real murder sim!!!

Why is it that whenever people say that a games would be better on the 360 or ps3 as opposed to the Wii, sheep always assume that we are only talking about the graphics. It's not just about the graphics. It's also about physics. A games like Eternal Darkness could benefit from a superbly designd phyics system, in the same way Splinter Cell convinction 5 is benefiting.

For a game like this, sound plays a huge role in making the environment lively and more immersive. The 360 could deliver this way better than the Wii. 360 just has more to offer the game--better graphics, better physics, better sound, better online (if the game has downlaodable content), and possibly more. The game will feel more immersive.

You played the last Enternal Darkness with a conventional controller and you loved it. These controllers will be improved. I look at all these advantages on the 360 and then look at the Wii -- I find it hard to see why people think the game will be better overall on the Wii.

In extention to the above quote:

If, for example, Bioshock wasn't already in development and then developers announced that they would develop it, the Wii fanboys would have the same reaction as they're having with Enternal Darkness 2 -- thinking that it would be better on the Wii.

Now that we've seen the game on the  360, few dare to think the overall game will be better on the Wii. You'd just shrug to think of the game on the Wii.

The Xbox360 simply provides developers with more resources to create truly epic games as compared to the Wii.

The question is when.

It should be when and for what systems. Just because the first one came out for the GC doesn't mean that it will be released on the Wii.

I would argue against that.

How exactly is Splinter Cell Conviction benefiting from a physics system? Sam Fisher can pick things up realistically now?

Physics and AI are two of the most difficult facets of a game to judge qualitatively, simply because there's no frame of reference. I think everyone will agree that FEAR probably has the best AI at the moment, yet the AI for FEAR works just as well, if not better, on a four-year-old Pentium 4 as it does on a modern Xenon CPU. The AI for Bioshock is geared mostly for aggression, which gives the impression of intelligence because of the increased challenge. That's it.

And physics? What physics were shown in Bioshock that makes it so unattainable on the Wii? The physics shown in the gameplay montage may have been dynamic real-time, but the truth is that the biggest physics effects shown in that montage could have been pre-scripted and no one would've been able to tell the difference. The biggest dynamic physics effects shown in the Bioshock gameplay montage were of the player telekinetically throwing grenades back at the splicers. Not exactly very CPU-intensive.

No they didn't Microsoft only has a deal with Silcon Knights to make the Too Human Trilogy that is all, Nintendo also owns Stock in Silicon Knights so Nintendo can buy them anytime if they buy atleast 51% of the Stock, they also have stock in Namco-Bandai aswell.

It will be on the Wii because Nintendo owns the rights to the Sanity Effects so Silicon Knights will put it on the Wii if they want to have the Sanity Effects in Eternal Darkness 2.

I imagine they could come up with something similar and name it something else. Or, they could choose not to try and mimic the other game and make a different expierience altogether.

Well, with as long as it takes for SK to develop, and considering Too Human is a trilogy; we might see ET2 in 8 years.

I can't see the point that you're making. I said that games like this would be better on the 360 as opposed to the Wii. In all the games I mentioned, the games are at a certain level that cannot be achieved on the Wii without major sacrifices. Imagine Splinter Cell  on the Wii -- there is no arguing that the game would be very, very different from the 360 version, and not in a good way. Imagine GTA  4 on the Wii...you get the idea.

No one is saying the 360 games have perfect physics, graphics and whatnot. What I'm saying is that the 360 offers way more than the Wii.

A game like Eternal Darkness 2 will not only look significantly better on the 360, it will most likely also play better. The developer has alot to work with.

The point I'm making is that "improved physics" and "improved AI" are nigh-impossible to judge qualitatively to the point where you'd say, "Yes, this game is MUCH better because of physics and AI." The only reason you would put a game on the 360 instead of on the Wii is graphics.

I already stated that I'd rather see ED2 on the 360 instead of on the Wii, but it's purely because the 360 is better suited for cinematic delivery rather than unique gameplay, and Eternal Darkness was a game that was more about cinematic delivery (i.e. graphics) than unique gameplay.

Basically, I was rebutting this point you made: "Why is it that whenever people say that a games would be better on the 360 or ps3 as opposed to the Wii, sheep always assume that we are only talking about the graphics. It's not just about the graphics. It's also about physics. Everyt thread turns into how the game should be on console x y or z. Its ridiculous and detracts from great news like this. Eternal Darkness was one of my favorite games of all time and I'm excited. Personally I hope its on the Wii if only because I like to have a series of games playable on one console and if not at least in the same line of consoles.

Also the combat system would be suited well for the Wii.

I'd like this on the Wii. Wii remote and nunchuck switching places and directions. THe game could make you think you're going back to the Wii Menu and you lost all your progress. Scary noises could appear from the mic.

The Wii cannot keep up with number of characters on screen and maintain a high level of detail. Right off the bat, this isn't a superficial thing, but proof where the GPU and CPU superiority comes into play and physically adds numbers the Wii cannot handle. If you disagree, I'd like to see Dead Rising and Assassin's Creed pulled off on the Wii (impossible). In Assassin's, you can climb nearly everything in a dash, scale a wall, hit a rooftop, and peer into the distance, all in one seamless instance. I don't think Wii can DO THIS at all. There is a reason Ubisoft not doing this on Wii

Ubisoft said in Splinter Cell Conviction and Assassin's Creed, the crowd is not just eye-candy, but they all interact with the player (even "memorize" your character) This adds whole new levels of gameplay and interactivity. This isn't the Gamecube or Wii or PS2 where crowds are rather static NPCs who walk randomly to nowhere. Gears of War developer said the Xbox 360 (and obviously the PS3 most likely) have improved AI scripting that was not done on past generations. The Wii does not match the level of AI sophistication.

So aside from nicer graphics (which I agree with you, it creates a better cinematic experience) there is a lot more yielded from better hardware power. Physical numbers, detail, which adds scope, and better AI and retention of memory from NPCs, which adds depth to what used to be lifeless corpses in games. (how much they advance I dont know, but it's safe to say they are a leap above old NPCs)

And in Splinter Cell Conviction, the new physics actually dictacted the new tone and gameplay style. Now Sam Fisher can punch and attack in any direction, he has over 500 contextual animations, and he can smash guys in endless variety of ways which adds replayability. Just thinking about stuff like what physics can do makes me more excited than games coming on Wii, which feature the same tired mechanics and simplstic AI patterns. On one hand you have a good new controller (good) but on the other hand you have a constricting, aging AI/physics system. (bad)
This isn't just about being able to toss chair or hit a potted plant around for fun, the environment now becomes much more a part of the character and figures into his decision-making and planning in gameplay.

Yes if this game where to come out.. it would undoubtfully be better on the PS3 or the 360... It would have to be dumbed down to appeal to none gamers on the Wii... that means stripping it of all it's great gameplay elements that where in ED1 and making it a light gun game :|
