Well Well

https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/desperados-3-review-the-quickload-and-the-dead/1900-6417500/

On other hand Last of us 2 score 8 and Ghost just score 7.

that means this isometric stealth masterpiece is better than 2 AAA sony exclusive movie titles.

Nito. I'm trying to get through the first game, but it's tough and old. Protagonist sounds like Geralt. If the filtering continues, I'll hop on to Cooper's Revenge, to get filtered by that one.

Desperados 1 is cool, very cool.

But the 3D one is whack. They made Desperados 3 in the same style as the original, so might as well jump to that one after you are done with the original.

Desperados 3 will probably be one of those games people will still be buying and playing years after it is released, being considered a classic in the gaming community.

Ghost of Tsushima will most likely be forgotten in a month, and TLOU2 will only be remembered for the backlash.

It's probably the most perfectly designed stealth game made. Up there with the likes of MGS2, Thief and Splinter Cell 3 imo.

Using Once Upon A Time In The West picture makes perfect sense as it's essentially a fan game. The entire thing is a homage with it's own little twists thrown in, the villain is literally Frank, like, that's his fucking name. Make no bones about it.

I will check desperados 1 shortly but i doubt i will like it after des3, i mean it would feel dated.

but watching des2 footage. holy crap, who the hell thoughts it was good idea to make it third person game with occassional isometric view?? lol.

What Desperados III particularly excels at, arguably better than other stealth games, is in balancing offensive abilities with the passive.

It's designed around sound, placement and timing where an alarm state is a risk than a forgone conclusion.

It's perfectly viable to have large elaborate shootouts provided the time is taken to set them up, but it requires just that, set up. It's not easy to do. The map and enemy placements are always designed in a way to deter the player from abusing it.

It results in equal high points alongside the passive-aspect, as oppossed to the player lopsidedly leaning on one or the other.

One question I have: how much does this game want you to pull off a good many actions simulatenously?

It's a part that I will never get good at I fear: having all these actions planned and then pressing the spacebar to watch the spectacle you have orchestrated.

It was shown in some of the trailer, so I think it might be a feature that is required to get through some of the levels?

thats the point its your opinion. ghost scored a 9 on ign because his opinion was different. ign also scored last of us a 10. because again it was the person opinion.

if your cousin told you des 3 sucked that you was excited for would you listen to him or would you look to see what other people think of the game?

Pulling off multiple actions isn't difficult, especially if you're just combining two characters. The enemies are either static or follow a strict route.

It's only when they're triggered they go into an unpredictable search mode, or when the map has an augmentation like footsteps in the mud or sound from swamp water. Some enemies like Long-Coats need killed in a specific manner, basically the games equivalent of a tank.

It is possible to play the game controlling one character at a time, but I doubt anyone would. Just defy the joy of the game and throughout the run it conditions the player to get better at it to the point the characters bounce off each other seamlessly.

Beyond that, many of the levels do not feature the full party, presumably to deter the player from using the same combination over and over.

Desperados 3 also provides a wide array of options to tune the games difficulty, dependent on exactly how much challenge you want. Normal is still pretty challenging, but not backbreaking, be punished for playing stupid but still actively encouraged to experiment.

@uninspiredcup: Cool man!

I like stealth games where you can screw up but still escape the AI in a non-stupid way (like not hiding in full sight right in front of them).

On the other hand there are these purist stealth games where you can never escape when they go on full alert. It's just game over, you suck, try again.

Yea. Particularly despise tail missions, first game remember that in was Splinter Cell 2 and then it become the norm for Assassins Creed. Wasn't good then, ain't good now.

Almost every mission in Desperados 3 plonks the player down with 3-4 objectives to do in any order how they see fit.

Even when it has a more linear section with a single character for what is essentially a story set-peice, still affords the player freedom on how they approach.

Another nice feature opens up later on is a Hitman style mutator where maps are remixed with specific conditions. It's all optional but a nice touch on top of the main campaign.

This is one of those games where I wish the season pass had more content and wouldn't mind if was more expensive (£11 UK). 3 missions will probably be about 3-4 hours game-time, more doing challenges guessing, not bad either way.

Funny thing is, it does have someone killed in a particular cruel manner (think Skyfall gun match), but it's done tastefully and stylistically cutting away as it happens.

Which tends to be in line with the Sergio Leone Westerns it's inspired by. Be it the deliberately vague shots of the attempted rape in A Few Dollars More or the climax of Once Upon A Time In The West where we see Harmonica drop but immediately cuts away.

Of course none of these are as good as stabbing someone in the throat or eviscerating their face. It needs to be as graphic as possible to punctuate meaning... (that violence is bad)

Honestly, it's worth it, at least more worth it than other shit. If you enjoy Westerns it's about as good as it gets in the gaming medium. Know kinda jerking off to this game, but... it's because it's really fucking good.

Quite a meaty game as well, clocked in 32 hours and still haven't quite finished it. Still 3 Baron missions that clock in at about an hour each and the half the challenges missions.

Just learned on the forum as well, aside from payed DLC it will be getting free Baron missions patched in, in the future.

loved shadow tactics, this sounds good but it's £45 on steam 😱 #wishlisted 🤠

Honestly, it's worth it, at least more worth it than other shit. If you enjoy Westerns it's about as good as it gets in the gaming medium. Know kinda jerking off to this game, but... it's because it's really fucking good.

Quite a meaty game as well, clocked in 32 hours and still haven't quite finished it. Still 3 Baron missions that clock in at about an hour each and the half the challenges missions.

Just learned on the forum as well, aside from payed DLC it will be getting free Baron missions patched in, in the future.

strategy game ✅

"modern stealth masterpiece" ✅

decent length ✅

cup endorsed ✅

ghosts endorsed 🤔 ;)

i spunked £50 on tlou2 and regretted it, bit hesitant to pay full price for a game after that but i do need something new to play and this ticks all the right boxes tbf

It took me almost 40 hours finishing the game. 1 mission complete it 1 and half hour.

the early missions were easy but later mission especially swamp one were very challenging.
