@ten_pints: sadly instead of doubling down on a great sequel they are gonna trying to milk every penny out of 2. They are giving the game away on pc and cranking up the micro transactions hoping to sucker people into the addiction. AAA gaming is getting really sick these days

This is what I don't get. I never thought the game was shit, I just think Bungie/Activision's asking prices are off. But then I don't have Forsaken yet, maybe I'm wrong.

Forsaken is basically Destiny 3. It is not even an expansion. They sold it like a base game but said it was an "expansion".

That's fascinating to me. I'd love to hear more about this. I'm enjoying Destiny 2 a whole lot more than I had anticipated.

A souless product all round.

Bungie were one time lucky in the early days of console shooters.

Bungie and id Software (Carmack, Doom, etc) were founded on the exact same year (1991). You can't be one time lucky in 2001 and somehow have a company that launched a decade earlier.

1 time lucky as a massive hit.

Halo has run its course. taking 5+ years, 100-200 million budget to create a tiny Halo Clone with World of Warcraft elements is shockingly bad. Then releasing full price sequal + expensive DLC and still have 90% of the same recycled enemies and materials used in the previous game...

Destiny is terrible.

Halo transformed the landscape, it was more than just a hit. Halo borrowed lore from previous games that Bungie had produced.

As for how Destiny fits in, I do know it wasn't what we all hoped for. With that in mind, the way the story is told and the way the game plays still fits me just right. I'm also a very patient gamer, so I'm not going to spend much time dissecting a game unless there's a good reason to do so (subjectively). To this point, I'm enjoying Destiny 2 quite a bit.

@DragonfireXZ95: I dont know PC numbers, consoles are still pretty high. Other then a very select few do PC fps ever keep good numbers?

Why don't you ask PUBG, Overwatch, CS:GO, Ring of Elysium, and the many others that have a high pop count that?

PC only has around 3000% more FPS games than consoles, so there's also that factor.

Also, proof of high pop on consoles?

Too much money went into paying off reviewers.

It's interesting to see EA and Activision's stock taking 20-40% dips now.

When a company expects more than all the money in the world to satisfy its investors, who themselves perpetuates these impossible standards.... failure to meet expectation is the only possible outcome.
