Destiny 2 is done for (thank god)

After so many failures, its finally come to an end. DBZ and MHW were responsible for dealing the killing blow. All of its userbase is now playing those games, even the most hardcore ones (streamers, people that played daily, etc)

Get this bungie, people LOATHE predatory practices and REWARD full good games WITHOUT major microtransactions. I personally regret buying and playing D2, really dark times in my gaming carreer.

Yeah, this was anti-climactic. Never bothered with Destiny 2.

Well this is stupid. Destiny 2 was the 3rd best selling game of 2017, and the majority of the top selling games of the year had microtransactions.

I mean, it wasn't like Destiny 2 did bad by any means. On PS4, it sold over 3 million copies and on XBox One is sold about 1.6 million copies.

Played the destiny 2 beta and realized it was a re-skinned destiny so didn’t even bother to pick it up. It’s only so far the smooth shooting mechanics can take them when the rest of the game is fundamentally flawed.

I didn't buy it because the Publisher behind it is scum.

I enjoyed Destiny 2 and in no part has their micro-transaction practices been responsible for my lack of playing it lately. I just hit a point where I don't feel like grinding, I have no desire to engage in PvP. Their more worthwhile PvE requires dedicated fire-teams and I don't feel like recruiting one or trying to convince my friends who have no interest in getting it. If they focused more on worthwhile PvE that's more casual and offers its own matchmaking then I'd probably play it more.

It'll manage a resurgence. Activision isn't going to slow its roll for one of 2017's top 2 selling games, plus it's the series' MO (and TBH, vanilla Destiny was in far worse shape than Destiny 2 at this point in its respective lifecycle. The more concerning matter, personally, is not whether Bungie can bounce back, but why did they put themselves in a place where they needed to...again!).

Yeah I played it for about a month. A real stinker.

Content wise you can play this game for quite a bit, I mean there are quite a few "missions" in the vanilla game. I did them all. I don't really remember too much other than it wasn't too captivating. Mostly just go to point A and kill some AIs, go to point B etc. For awhile there was a notion floating around that this one was supposedly "better" but that only makes me wonder how bad the first one was. And PVP? Pretty uninspired outside of the whole "abilities" thing.

Destined 2 collect dust on my bookshelf.

I played Destiny 2 for about 30 minutes (2 rounds) today in iron banner to get my Warlock the iron banner helmet they refused to give me after busting my ass the last time iron banner was out. Now that I've got it, my Warlock is complete. I didn't bother with the DLC.

Oh, and to add credence to the OP... I'm playing Monster Hunter World now.

After the disgrace that is Destiny 2, I doubt Bunghole will ever be able to regain lost faith from the gaming community.

Such a shame as it had potential, but turned out to be a sleazy money grab. The amount of lies and bullshit Bunghole has fed it's user base is unforgivable.

Again, what's wrong with it? Playing it now, only gripe is the 30 FPS cap.

This is my exact thoughts on the game as well. I stopped playing about a month ago, don't feel the need to come back unless they release some great PVE content, Mercury was very very bad.

Why did you buy Destiny 2? It's made by Bungie who only knows one thing (you should've known what you'd get) and the first Destiny sucked balls. What did you expect?

Guess I'll never understand the hate for this series. I loved the first game, and I'm having a blast with the sequel. Is it perfect, no, but it's still far from the mess a lot of people try to make it out to be.

Bungie was always a garbage studio. One trick pony LMFAO. Barely managed to make Halo a decent series and then started sucking balls later on.

What gets me about Destiny 2 is that Bungle made a huge deal out of claiming that they learned from their mistakes with Destiny 1, then turned around and did the exact same goddamn things. I truly wanted this game to be good and I otherwise love the solid game mechanics. It's a world, by all rights, I should find myself hopefully lost in but they keep skimping the hell out of content.

Bungle is dead to me, now. I hope their talented game engine creators find another studio to make truly great, but everything else about Bungle and Destiny 2 could be set on fire tomorrow and not a single thing of value would be lost.

I didn't intentionally buy it, it came with my PS4 Pro.

Tried the beta, and while I wasn’t blowed away by it, I was considering buying it cause I needed a new shooter! However before I got to do that, all the shady crap came to light and then i just couldnt be bothered...

Yeah, there was a lot more going on than that. But the microtransactions certainly didn't help. With the reception I mean. I was expecting this thread was going to be about the dwindling player count. Would be good if Destiny 2 ran empty with their stupid 10 year plan.

78% Player Drop Off. This is substantial. It had barebones content, the gameplay was meh, and the DLC nonsense was too much. The game is trash and barely anyone plays it.

I bought and played the game because a couple friends of mine did. Got an okay amount of hours out of it, but I still feel ripped off. Uninstalled it, never looked back, and honestly, this is one game I wouldn't mind seeing going the way of the dodo.

Played Destiny 1 and said no thank you to Destiny 2. I thought the first game was a subpar/rubbish game and the expansions didn't make it any better. I'm not sure why people expected some great game with the sequel. People were telling me part 2 was way better. I never believed it and I'm happy I didn't.

@nomadic8280: It's a good game... Just gets boring after about 50 hrs. People expected more out of it, as did I. Definitely got my money's worth, but disappointed in the end game content(the stuff that keeps you playing). The first Destiny had more but it wasn't until after 3 DLCs, so we'll see if Destiny 2 goes that route.

As long as you don't expect to play the game daily for long term, Destiny 2 is a good game. Just play it until you have experienced all the content or it starts to feel like a grind. There is fun to be had up to that point.

Played the hell out of Destiny 1. Played Destiny hardcore first two weeks. Did everything there was to do. Gg. Now i'm done with what seems to be Destiny 1.1. Not a completely new game.

Again, the source of your data is saying the claims are bogus. They took the chart down because it represented daily unique users. Lets look at how many folks were playing Destiny 2 yesterday...

If a half million people currently playing PvE and a half million playing PvP equals "done for," then I would hate to see how many people are currently playing your favorite game...

OP got suckered into buying Destiny 2. I learned from the first game. Didn't need me to buy it twice to know it is an MMORPGFPS lite. Problem with the game is there is no real good end game content. Once you beat the story it is a grind for light which that system is bad and the PVP which if you don't like PVP is useless feature in the game. And unfortunately for Destiny it succeed at neither so yeah.
