Destiny airing commercials already?!!!

I just saw the Destiny commercial for the first time today on Spike TV. Did anyone else find this strange? And exciting at the same time... While I'm looking forward to seeing what Killzone: Shadow Fall has to offer (as well as Battlefield 4 and Halo 5), Destiny is the FPS I'm most looking forward to for next gen.

But earlier this year, Activision said that Destiny would noyt come out until next year at the ealiest... isn't weird that they would start an advertising campaign so early?! I also found it interesting that the only console they advertised in the commercial was the PS4 (even though I'm pretty sure it's coming out on everything except Wii/Wii U).

I was definitely surprised when I saw a commercial for it already on TV. Looks sweet though! Definitely gonna get it for the PS4!

Is it a trilogy or based on 4 games?

I like that its starting at the start of the gen, just like Mass Effect did. We need more big trilogies to start and last next gen.

Never liked Halo so this is a meh for me. But I'll keep an eye on it

NO really, Sony has partnered up for advertisement, Bungie will be showing gameplay for the first time at SONY event. At the end of the AD it says gameplay reveal or something June 11 so they are promoting destiny and sony event. 

Never liked Halo so this is a meh for me. But I'll keep an eye on it

Bungie has indicated doubt that they'll release in 2013, so at best they're planning Q1 2013.  That's virtually 7 months in advance that they're marketing this game.

Could Activision coddle this deal any more inambiguously?

Bungie and Activi$ion are both hyping this up to be the next big thing, or something even bigger than anything we've previously seen in the industry.  With Bungie's skill and Activisions marketing presence I highly doubt this game will be anything but massive.  It doesn't surprise me that they are advertising it this early.

To be fair, Halo was not really that groundbreaking any more after Halo 2... especially as COD was becoming the new FPS king. But the 1st Halo was revolutionary on consoles... and Destiny feels like that... the first time we're seeing something new and refreshing in the genre again. So it makes sense for FPS fans to be excited regardless of what console.

Uhh it was in regards to Halo 3. No shooter has matched Halo 3 in regard to content (expect Halo reach) and thats a near 6 year old game!

Look at COD4, then look at Halo 3. I loved Cod 4, but the menu was a carbon copy. Infinity Ward took sooo much inspiration from Bungie
