Destiny looks dope, it's getting a lot of un-warranted hate just out of how much hype there is surrounding it. If it's not your cup of tea that's cool, but no one can say it isn't a good game with a lot of content and high production values.

Edit: As for the actual topic, I think its pretty cool that they did this, Im moving through Venus atm :D

Well, I meant more in my day to day life, none of my friends that play games have even mentioned it other than to say "eh, maybe I'll pick it up if I'm bored" nobody is hyped for it.

Also, how you can you say "no one can say it isn't a good game", I played a fair bit of the beta and absolutely nothing in there indicated it was anything special. You're right about there being a lot of content and high production values which is actually my problem with the game, it has a great developer, seemingly infinite resources and all they've ended up with is Borderlands with basic Halo gameplay, nice graphics and none of the charm.

I have a fireteam of IRL friends. :)

Pretty awesome, in fairness Bungie are fantastic at web integration with their games ever since Halo 2 and Bungie.net.

Can't wait for this game, tempted to buy Sims 4 to tide me over... maybe not.

How can I say that? Because it's true. It's not your cup of tea and you see nothing special in it, but you certainly cannot argue that it is bad, awful or un-playable. Unless you're closed minded you should be able to understand why people like it. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. You describe it as an un-inspired Halo/Borderlands rip off, whereas I just don;t see that. I played the beta all the way through on PS4 and X1 and loved it each time. I think its a really good combination of all of the things that are great in games, and all of the people I know in real life have their copy pre-ordered and are patiently waiting for launch.

The marketing budget is high, but so are the amount of people who have pre ordered and anticipated the game. Just because your closed friend circle isn't interested that doesn't mean it's a marketing failure.

The dungeons and zones are tiny though..smaller than crappy f2p mmos on PC...why would they need this.

I don't want to get banned because of the R word. Gamespot mods protect hermies like you're their children, except they wont buy you a new GPU when you turn 12. It would be an appropriate response to your posts, however. The demo turned me off. I need to see a lot more and hear people who I trust opinions of the game before I buy.

Secondly, I was just as pumped about Destiny when it was announced as I am now about Halo 5. Unfortunately as i learnt more about destiny my hype deflated, and who knows the same might happen with Halo 5.

Agreed. Just a pity they sacked Marty. Biggest mistake they've made imo, their soundtracks are going to go downhill.
